Chapter 31

Do you let Keyla die, or save her life?
Save her
Vampire or not, she is still a person who desires to live. It would make you feel guilty to simply let her die like this.
You pull her up and bring your knees underneath her back. Then you bring the sword of Saint Magdalena to your arm and cut yourself.
“Here, drink this.” You say as you bring your wounded arm to Keyla’s mouth.
“No, you’ll die.” Keyla complains.
You raise your voice in a stern manner and say “You said that if you feed on me one more time, I’ll just get bedridden. If you don’t feed now, you’ll die. So go and drink.”
Keyla sighs, but then licks the blood from your wound. Her burnt skin quickly starts to heal. Her lips visibly regenerate and soon she sucks the blood from your wound like she did from your neck and breast earlier.
When your vision starts to darken, Keyla face seems to be completely healed. They only thing showing signs of the burns is the singed hair. They you faint.
When you wake up again, you find yourself in a dark place. Your robes have been taken from you, and you lie on a simple bed with only a sheet covering you. You try to sit up, but your arms cannot support your weight. This must be what Keyla meant with being bedridden. You simply don’t have enough blood in your body any longer to sustain your muscles with energy.
“Sabine, You’re awake.” You hear Keyla’s voice say.
You look around and see Keyla run up to you. She is completely healed, including her hair. It’s amazing how much of an effect some blood can have on a vampire.
Keyla kneels next to you and pulls you to her cold chest.
“By the goddess, I feared you wouldn’t wake up again.”
“I’m fine.” You say weakly. “Where are we?”
“We are in the bandit’s hideout.” Keyla replies. “I used some hypnosis on the last remaining bandit and had him bring us here.”
Keyla points at Olan sitting a bit further. The big guy is just sitting there, staring blankly out into nothingness.
“My robes?” You ask Keyla next.
“I’m sorry, they were drenched in my blood. I took them from you, including your sash, but there wasn’t anything I could do to get the blood out. I’m sad to say, but you’ll have to find yourself some new clothes.”
Too bad, you were rather fond of those robes.
“Sabine, I can’t express how grateful I am to you for saving me. Two hundred plus years and it all would have been destroyed by a couple of damn criminals.” Keyla continues.
“Don’t worry.” You whisper. “Just get me to Gerlangen and we’re even.”
“Actually, Sabine. I’d like to make you an offer.” Keyla says nervously. “Do you … Would you like to become a vampire as well?”
You look at Keyla with some confusion and ask “Me?”
“I’ve already conversed with the Winter Lotus. She is fine with taking you as an acolyte of hers. She also said you can remain a servant of the Burning Rose.”
Keyla’s explanation still leaves you confused. “Serve two goddesses?”
“Yes.” Keyla replies excited. “The Winter Lotus will grant you a life of eternal youth and you’ll be able to fight for the Burning Rose and slay daemons.”
That … is actually a very enticing proposition. As a vampiress, you’d gain extra ability’s. Ones that would greatly compliment your current arsenal. And when you need to feed, you can just do what Keyla does and only drink enough to sustain yourself. That way you would end have to take a human life. But would it really be as great a choice at it seems?
Do you accept Keyla’s offer and become a vampire?
