Who's outside?

Sarah Jane

A woman with dark hair and a face even redder than Rose's was nervously wandering the quarry outside, head constantly turning from side to side. She almost jumped out of her skin when Romana neared the cave entrance.

She hadn't been covering herself, using her hands for balance on the uneven ground. She'd thought she was alone, and that was embarassing enough; now she'd just treated a stranger to a full frontal view of herself.

The woman's hands moved to cover herslef loudly enough that Romana heard a slap.

The Time Lady meanwhile could no longer quite hide her blush, both from exposing herself to Rose and now from another stranger seeing her like this.

"Do you know the Doctor?" Romana called over.

"The Doctor?" the woman squeaked, as much from embarassment as recognition. "Is he here?" Then she reddened more. "Or at least his ship. And a change of clothes."

"Afraid not," Romana said. "But I think that's why we're all here; because we know him. Come over, it might not be safe! I'm Romana."

"Sarah Jane Smith," the woman said. "Do you- ah!"

Sarah Jane jumped as Rose walked into view, the blond still flushed. Rose did a double take.

"Sarah Jane?" Rose said.

"Yes. Uh, have we met?" Sarah Jane said.

That would just be perfect. Not only marooned naked in a strange place, but exposed to someone she knew.

"Uh- kind of, uh, not really," Rose said. She stumbled over her words, remembering what Romana had said about future knowledge. "Do you want to come in?"

Sarah nodded quickly; anything to get out of the open.

The two naked women backed away, not turning around. Her blush far from fading, Sarah followed them into the impromptu shelter.

Instinctively she sat with her back to the same wall as Rose. Even without being told, she could sense something unnervingly alien about Romana.
