Chapter 103 by nimt nimt

Who was it?

Sarah's Mother, Mrs. Geoff

Just as your pasta arrived, you heard someone take a seat opposite you. Looking up, you were surprised to see Sarah's mom sitting across from you. It took you a few seconds to place her face, but then you remembered meeting her once before.

"How's your pasta?" she asked, nodding toward your plate with a friendly smile.

"It's good," you replied, a little awkwardly at first, but her easygoing nature helped you relax. "I haven't been to this café before, but it seems like a nice spot."

"It is," she agreed. "I come here sometimes when I need a break from the usual routine. It's quiet, and the food's always good."

You nodded, appreciating the small talk. It gave you a chance to gather your thoughts. "Do you live around here?" you asked, trying to keep the conversation going.

"Not too far," Mrs. Geoff said. "I was actually on my way to run some errands when I spotted you. I thought it would be nice to say hello."

You smiled, feeling flattered that she had taken the time. "It’s good to see you. I wasn’t expecting to run into anyone I know today."

"Life’s full of little surprises," she said with a chuckle, her eyes twinkling with warmth. "So, tell me, how have you been finding your job? I know Sarah's mentioned a few things, but I'd love to hear your perspective."

You took a deep breath, considering your words. "It’s been a learning experience, that’s for sure. I mean, it’s challenging sometimes, but I’m really grateful for the opportunity. Sarah and everyone at the team have been great."

Mrs. Geoff nodded, her expression thoughtful. "I'm glad to hear that. It sounds like you’re getting the hang of it."

"Trying to," you said with a sheepish grin. "There’s still a lot to learn, though."

"That's the beauty of starting out," she said, leaning back in her chair. "You’re not expected to know everything right away. It's about growth, taking one step at a time."

How did the conversation went?
