Chapter 47 by Wigglesjiggles Wigglesjiggles

Who do we follow today?

Sally

Driving to John's college, Sally calmed herself, She knew she had to take everyday as her son seriously as this was his education she was sitting in for, Sally wanted her son to do well and for that to happen she needed to be his eyes for this next month of classes.

Sally pulled into the colleges car park, getting out she headed straight for the lecture theatre were John's classes would take place, making sure to get there early in order to go over her son's note to prepare herself. As Sally went through the notes she found herself quickly able to pick up on what her son had been learning, thankful he was so dutiful in his note taking, people had began to filter into the theatre and Sally looked at her son's watch seeing that it was 5 mins before the class began.

"And after lunch we will continue to look at how, these story structures are used in a modern context" John's lecturer Mr McCarthy said announcing the break, Sally finished writing up her notes, being as thorough as possible, as she wrapped up she looked around the theatre, she noticed that Hannah the girl she had seen on Friday was looking her way, immediately choosing to look elsewhere upon seeing John look her way.

Sally thought about what she had said to John about her being into him, Sally was conflicted not wanting to go against her son's wishes not to talk to her, but also knowing that she couldn't just not talk to her on her son's behalf. Eventually Sally decided it would be best to just talk to her, she knew John liked her and she felt like a relationship would be good for him, he'd never seemed to have had a girlfriend after all.

"Hey, Hannah right?" John called out catching up with Hannah after leaving the class, "Yeah, it's John right?" Hannah responded. Quickly they began talking about the class and what books they liked, Sally wasn't as much of a reader as her son but she knew which books John liked and actually read some of the romance books that Hannah had liked so their conversation went from awkward to natural quickly. "Hey so I was wondering if you'd like to get dinner later and go over some of the stuff from today?" Sally asked Hannah, with a level of confidence that John would have never had in front of his crush, "Sure, I'd like that" Hannah responded, "where are you thinking?"

Sally froze up, she knew restaurants for sure, but really only the ones she would go to when her husband took her out and those places were decidedly more expensive than an unemployed college student in John's position. Thinking on her feet Sally responded with "well you could come to mine for dinner?, My mum makes some pretty good food and it means we can go over our notes afterwards without having to bring them to a restaurant", "sure I'll see you later then, around??" Hannah began, "7. be round for 7 I'll give you my address" Sally responded.

Sally felt on cloud nine watching Hannah walk away, that had gone really smoothly and she hoped John wouldn't mind that she spoke to her, She quickly send a message to John letting him know that she would be bringing someone home for dinner so as to not surprise him, but she kept the identity of who was coming a secret for now wanting to surprise her son.

"Damn you finally talked to her, who are you and what have you done with the real John?" Sally heard, turning around she saw Sam walking over to her. "So how did it go, you get her number?" Sam said wanting to hear from his friend, "I did actually and we're getting dinner" Sally said, "Damn good shit bro, I never knew you had it in you" Sam said clapping his friend on the shoulder "You gotta tell me the details, let's grab some food".

Sally told Sam the details of the encounter over some burgers at the local fast food place. "Really bro, your house. You couldn't think of taking her anywhere fancier?" Sam said between bites of his food, "Hey my mum, makes good food you know that" Sally jibed back knowing how much Sam enjoyed her cooking, "Aye that's true your mum is pretty special" Sam said his mind thinking about his encounter with her at the weekend. Sally was flattered at the compliment launched at her from Sam, "Oh speaking of my mum, I just wanted to say thanks for looking after her at the weekend, she said you and your parents where really nice and I appreciate it man" Sally said thinking about the fictional story John had told her about the weekend and feeling thankful her son had such good friends. "Oh yeah man don't worry anytime" Sam said with a knowing smile glad that John's mother had lied about their encounter because Sam liked being friends with John and him finding out he had fucked his mother silly and given her a facial would have certainly strained the relationship.

The rest of Sally's day went without incident, she found herself just going through the motions and before long she was driving home to see her son.
