So, with a pep in her step...
Sally went to find some help!
Sally couldn't do this work alone. She was strong, she knew that, but she wasn't perfect.
So she called up her old friend, Adriana. She'd met Adriana back in college; even dated her for a few years afterward, until Adriana dumped her. Apparently, she was "stuck in a terrible, rose-colored, alcohol-drenched dream". Sure, maybe she'd been drinking a lot at the time, but she's stopped since then!
Mostly!
She knew she could prove to Adri that she wasn't a lost cause. Maybe she could win her back! Or at least, get some help.
Without hesitation, she called Adri and invited her over to her apartment, before heading there herself.
Three hours later, a redhead was at the door. Sally felt butterflies in her stomach! She hadn't talked to Adri for...
Well, four years at this point.
She opened the door, and saw that Adri... well, she didn't look to be in a good mood.
"What's wrong?" Sally asked.
"My ex messaged me out of the blue with the text 'Get over here. Now'. Look, Sally, I don't know what-"
Sally interrupted her, holding up the strange, heavy shiny rod. "I found this!"
"...You found an aluminum rod, Sally. What a development. Is that what you called me over here for? To threaten me with aluminum?"
"T-threaten?!"
"You stalked me for a year after we broke up!"
Stalking? Sally? Surely, Adri must be mistaken.
"S-stalking? N-no, I just-"
"I don't even know what I'm doing here. Fuck this."
"Adri, wait! I-"
"Don't 'Adri' me! You're lucky I found it in me to pity your creepy ass enough to not press charges!"
Creepy?! Pressing charges?!
"No, please!"
It was too late, however, as Sally watched Adri's red hair from the back, storming away.
And then she felt something. The stick! She could use it to force Adri to give her a chance!
Swinging the stick backward like she was reeling in a fish, she drew Adri back, forcing her off-balance and stumbling back toward her with remarkable speed.
She could do anything, at this point.
