Sally's Diner

A quaint little diner built using a trailer design retrofitted with cool 80's diner décor and signage sits by the road close to the shoreline market. As you push on the metal handlebars of the glass doors, it rattles a little, greeting you with a nice sight of a homely diner with cushy sofa seats and bar stools by a long red countertop. There are a few patrons in at this time of the day, a man in a green hoodie, someone reading the newspaper by the corner seat and a middle aged woman in an apron wiping the countertop, the waitress and owner of this establishment, Sally.

Sally notices you entering, halting for a moment then smiles at you as she beckons you with her hands. "Come and take a seat here, gorgeous!" she exclaims. As the other patrons hear this, they turn their heads to you briefly, before awkwardly looking away.

"Don't mind them, missy." Sally laughs as she swings the kitchen towel. "They can't function well around pretty women."

You laugh a little awkwardly.

"Thanks." you nod as you scoot over and take a seat at the counter, planting your soft, yet firm perky ass on the stool.

"Sweet ass." the hoodie man remarks as he turns to ogle your butt.

"Uh." you look away and pretend that you didn't catch that.

"Shut up, Joseph!" Sally throws the towel at him and waves him off. "She's a young one!"

"Fine, Sally." he shrugs. "Can't compliment beautiful women these days without the collective going all fucked up on me." he mutters.

"So..." Sally speaks as she approaches you. "Academy kid?" she asks.

You nod in agreement.

"Knew it." she laughs. "I know all the old geezers in this town, but the college kids are not my expertise."

"Just enrolled this semester, ma'am." you reply. "I'm a transfer."

"Oh, that's interesting." Sally says. "In that case, today's on me, what would you like young miss?"

"I was just popping by to check the town out." you smile. "I don't suppose you have legal bindings against selling **** to academy students?"

"No, miss!" Sally firmly replies with a giggle. "I'd close one eye as long as you kids don't end up writing bullshit on my diner walls."

"That's not a hobby of mine, I can assure you." you cheekily reply.

"Well then." Sally exclaims. "House special pancakes and a serving of ol' Sally's rocks on the house!"

"Thank you." you politely reply.

"How are you liking Highwater so far?" Sally asks.

"Just arrived here." you reply. "Met the sheriff and his bi-uh... The blond?"

"Sheriff Dunley!" she laughs. "Man's a weird one, but I see him almost everyday in the morning, he's alright. The blond officer though.. Michelle? Kara? I think she's his puppy."

"I hope so." you reply as you take a sip of the drink. "Do you happen to know about anything paranormal or otherwise... Weird in this place?" you sheepishly ask as you establish a mental link with the woman.

"The kids have been gossiping a lot about those, not so much my area of expertise." she laughs. Liar. She seems to know more about the place than she lets on, especially about sheriff Dunley somehow being involved in some shady businesses around town, as well as her own son talking about accidentally stumbling upon an incident in the park at night with what seemed like a four legged creature that was fast eating the face off another man, as well as a girl from campus that had been **** by the Omega Fraternity boys, who had been reported by many to have done so with extensible limbs. Mind reading has its perks. Also, this place seems like a freak show.

"Oh, missy.." Sally calls out as you leave the establishment. "My apologies, I had forgotten to get your name!"
