Saki and Corinne show they care.

Marigold fanned her own face a little, rolling her eyes. "Oh," she said. Her smile was awkward and shaky, just like her step. "I'm okay, it'll all blow over. I think I'm just coming down with some convention flu." She crossed her hands over her chest, clamping down on her hands under her armpits, and refused to look at any of the DDs. That sort of gawking was the kind of thing that could get a good girl in trouble, especially if Lynn found out about it. "Thanks for asking, though."

Even as she was putting the finishing touches on her eye shadow, Saki was watching Mari like a hawk in the mirror. "I know what you mean. I swear, every time I go to a convention I spend the next week in bed with a fever!" She smiled warmly in a very un-Widowmaker-like way. Lynn would have had her flogged for breaking character like that. Then again, Lynn would have Saki-chan flogged for any number of reasons. She stepped away from the sink and toward the bathroom stall that Mari had turned into her 'love nest,' but Marigold backed away quickly. "It's okay!" she said. "I'm really not as bad as Bunny Hapa says I am. I just want to check your fever." She closed the distance between her and Marigold and pressed the back of her hand against Mari's forehead.

With her arms crossed over her chest, Mari was intimately aware of how hard her heart was beating. She couldn't believe that she had gotten herself into this situation! What would her pastor think, with her dressed in so little and so close to another woman? Not to mention what she had been 'doing' before she had noticed the DD Brigade outside. Oh, this is getting to be way too much, Mari thought to herself as she looked up at Saki's hand. She had to look at Saki's hand, or else she might have looked... elsewhere, and that wouldn't do at all, it would only make things much much worse than they already were.

Corinne, who Mari knew better as 'LoveBug' through her cosplay blog, appeared at Saki's side as if she had been there all along. She had done a wonderful job with her Sombra cosplay, but what stuck out to Mari was her tantalizingly long purple fingernails. When Corinne put her hand on Mari's bare arm, she could feel the pointed tips digging slightly into her skin. It was really hard to keep from shaking at her touch. "Why don't you sit down, cutie?" she said. "I'll get your costume together, don't worry at all." She brushed past Marigold into the bathroom stall.

Mari's heart skipped a beat. She couldn't let Corinne see it! Spinning on her heel, she moved away from Saki and her caring hand until she was facing Corinne again. "No, it's okay, I'm alright, I can take care of it all myself, thank you!" she babbled. "It's really okay!"

But it was too late. It had been a mistake leaving the X-ray goggles on top of her pile of clothes. Well! It had been a mistake taking them in the first place, and then it had been a mistake not throwing them away the moment Mari had discovered its secret sinful nature. But she hadn't and now she was going to reap what she had sowed.

Corinne had a discomforting smile on her face as she turned the goggles over in her hands. "I recognize these," she said. "Paid a visit to the Tech Gnomes, huh? Yeah." Her wolfish smile widened as she slowly turned to look Marigold in the eye. "I almost took these myself. X-ray spectacles were pretty hard to turn down, I gotta admit."

Marigold went as white as a sheet.
