Safiyah knows she's there

"Well done, gentlemen." Safiyah proclaimed. "You did exactly what I wanted."

"No problem ma'am," One of the goons said producing an envelope from his jacked pocket. "If you don't mine me asking, what's in here anyway?"

"Oh, nothing." Safiyah said smiling. "Just a blank piece of paper but I knew it would be enough to get her attention."

Kate figured out too late that she meant her as she felt a foot collide with her back and knock her out the rafters sending her to the ground. Kate struggled to lift her head up and saw everyone surrounding her. Everyone but Safiyah was surprised to see her, obviously they weren't let in on the plan.

"Oooh, Batwoman. Nice of you to drop by." She said, smirking the whole time. Kate staggered to her feet and took in her surroundings. Four thugs, Safiyah and whoever kicked her out of the rafters, she could take them.

"W-what do we do?" One of the thugs asked nervously. Kate guessed it was his first time dealing with a vigilante. "You want us to fight her."

"Sure, why not?" Safiyah said. She clearly didn't expect them to win.

Kate barely had time to think as she ducked the fist of the first guy, quickly jabbing him in the ribs and backhanding his face. The second guy went for a kick which she caught before sweeping the other leg, sending him to the ground. The last two learned from the others and attacked together. Kate used this to her advantage though, using one guy as a shield from the other's attack and knocking him out. His friend managed to hurt his hand in the attempt and was unprepared to deal with Kate's roundhouse kick.

_'These fights are getting easier and easier' _Kate thought. Looking around, she saw that the only two people moving were Safiyah and one of the thugs writhing on the floor in front of them. Kate walked towards Safiyah, kicking him in the head on her way, and stopped right in front of her.

"Ok, what the hell's this about?" Kate demanded.

"Oh so serious, Katie" Safiyah said mockingly. She was more at ease using her real name now that the hired help was ****. "Maybe I just enjoy watching you fight."

Kate heard a landing behind her and whipped around seeing Safiyah's right hand, Tahani standing there looking just as smug as her boss. She must have been the one who kicked her down. No wonder she looked so happy, she never liked Kate. Just as well, Kate didn't really like her either.

"Well, as long as I have you here, I do have a favour to ask."
