SSS:1980 Postgame Chat

SSS:1980 is a wrap.

Thank you very much to everyone who participated. I love logging in and seeing that there are comments and likes. I know that sounds awful, but I really enjoy it, and having such a high level of engagement makes this stuff a million times more fun for me. I hope you all enjoyed it too. Personally, I’m very happy with how this one went compared to the original. The smaller cast, simpler format, and focus on characterization felt like a big improvement to me. And no Dr. Who antics!

A few things because I expect questions about them:

• Jenny had relationship stats with everyone. The stat was highest with Roxy and lowest with Karen. This stat determined willingness to help and potential **** order. The higher the stat, the more chances we would have to save that person.

• Jenny had a few hidden stats like altruism and pragmatism. Without revealing too much, the readers made decisions (mostly) that led to a small body count, although it was theoretically possible to save everyone except Sissy OR Lisey. (It’s called Sapphic Sorority Slasher, not Sapphic Sorority Things Go Great)

• We didn’t quite commit enough to Roxy to get a romantic ending with her. But the bar for a romantic ending was extremely high because Jenny being fully committed to CCL fits better in the canon.

For prizes, we have several clear point leaders, and they will all get it. I’m also going to give the prize to one reader who was low in score but high on insight and read my mind at one point, swaying some votes and actually saving at least one life.

The prize is either of the following:

1. Nominate anything you want for any poll. There’s more than one category of poll, unfortunately, because everything I touch is unnecessarily complicated. We have normal stories (like The Futalorian), FSC epilogues (like Whole Lotta Love), and games like SSS. You can just name whatever you want, and I will make sure that your nomination ends up in the next poll of that type. Like if you say “I’d enjoy an SSS on a cruise ship,” or “I’d enjoy an SSS with a hardcore dom lead,” or “Do a futa Borderlands story with traps in it,” something like that, that would show up as an option in the next poll. The usual caveats apply; you don’t want to be *too detailed* in the request, and some kinks are off-limits, but you get the idea. Whatever you want will have a chance to get voted on the next time that kind of vote comes up.

2. If you want something a little sooner and more guaranteed, you can also request a Multiverse Chapter for SSS:1980. This is where you can choose any chapter from SSS:1980 where you want to see what the *other* option would have looked like, and I’ll write it and add it. Note that this is just a chapter, not a whole new branch—but it should give you an idea where certain choices might have taken you. You can also game this for a guaranteed horny scene, most likely. So you might say… that chapter where we slammed on the brakes? What would’ve happened if we’d used the gun? *Poof* I’ll add a chapter called MULTIVERSE: Use the gun, you’ll see. (Don’t choose that one! I’m for real!!)

I will reach out to the winners via DM, and they can just tell me what they want and I’ll do it.

Other things:

Instead of a Patreon poll, I want to just ask directly what you think of the format. If you want another SSS, there will be another SSS. But do we need to make any changes? I think we’ll keep the gameplay/story style the same—binary choices that you vote on, but what about the length and frequency? Would you want meatier, more satisfying chapters on a weekly basis? Or twice a week and they’re just a bit longer than they are now? Or do you want to stick to the short ones 5 times a week? This isn’t exactly a poll, I just want to hear your thoughts if you care.

I feel like the daily chapters and the current prize system favored people who could check in and vote more frequently; usually it was pretty easy to get points, so the people who voted the most were generally the point leaders. But I know there were readers who were just busy or fell behind for other reasons while the story zoomed ahead sometimes with less than 24 hours between chapters. So if you have thoughts on that, please share them in the comments. I can see why some readers would prefer weekly so that it’s not such a chore to keep up, while if I were a reader, I would want it more often because I’m a crazy person who likes that kind of thing.

Furthermore, on the subject of prizes, do you have an opinion on this: do you prefer smaller prizes that more people can get (like we’re doing right here) or should we play by Highlander rules? There can be only one champion, but it’s a bigger prize?

Sorry for all the questions, I just want to try to optimize the experience. I know I can’t make it perfect for everyone, but knowing what people like helps me out.
