SQ3 P4

With a mighty leap, DEBUG_HERO exited his tent with sword in hand. The bandits had just started to close in on the camp. At least a dozen of them surrounded the camp. Talon was uncoiled from her spot beside the smoldering fire and in the same motion twin daggers were in her hands while a third was embedding itself in the throat of a bandit.

DEBUG_HERO charged into the bandits, batting aside two arrows as he went. A bandit swung an axe at him and DEBUG_HERO executed a riposte. The bandit dropped as DEBUG_HERO slid his sword free and moved onto the next. Dropping under a sweeping axe and a mace, DEBUG_HERO swept his blade in a quick circle lopping off the bandits ankles. They screamed as they dropped. With two quick strikes, DEBUG_HERO ended their misery.

Behind him he could hear the screams and grunts of combat. He spared at glance at the whirling Talon. She danced in amongst the bandits, never in one space long. Her blades were a blur of shining steel and blood in the moonlight. Satisfied she lived up to her reputation and would not need his help, DEBUG_HERO continued his own rampage.

He continued to duck and deflect arrows as he parried and countered melee attacks. One then another bandit dropped. An arrow hit him in the back of the shoulder and he spun around the bandit in front of him to put the bandit in the middle. An arrow thudded into the surprised bandit's back as they turned to face him.

Just the archers remained for DEBUG_HERO. He charged them and with one great cleaving blow, split both of their bows open. Now disarmed, they tried to flee, but DEBUG_HERO finished them both off. His shoulder burned from the pain as he looked back to where Talon had been fighting. His original estimate had been wrong. There had been quite a few more than a dozen.

Talon was amongst a new group of bandits. DEBUG_HERO idly wondered why so many were here and why they refused to retreat after such losses.

The bandits were struggling to land blows on the ever moving Talon. One of the bandits was waving their mace around erratically in desperation. Talon, unable to predict his nonsensical movements was stepping right into the path of his mace.

DEBUG_HERO started to run. He wouldn't reach her in time. He threw his sword.
