SCENES FROM THIS WORLD: A Day Like Any Other

This is a spin-off, exploring the world created by the previous chapter. The rings are no longer involved, so don't expect any new changes. I just liked the premise and wanted to play in this space.

Charlotte's alarm went off at 7:00am, and she hurried off to the bathroom for her morning shower. She took her time, enjoying the warm water and even indulging in a little *ahem* self-massage. When she was done, she toweled off, dried her hair, and hurried off to her bedroom to... to... um...

Fuck. Of all the times to have a brain seize. Thank god there was a man in the house!

Still in nothing but a towel, Charlotte hurried off into her teenage son's bedroom. She tried to knock gently, but the unlatched door swung open when her knuckles hit it.

"Mom, what the hell!"

Oops! It looked like Ryan had been doing some self-massaging of his own.

"I'm sorry, sweetie," Charlotte blushed. "But mommy needs your help! I don't know what I should wear to work today."

"You can go naked for all I care, just get the fuck out of my room!"

"If you say so, dear!" she smiled as her mental block suddenly broke loose. As embarrassing as it would be to try and hold quarterly quota meetings in the nude, it felt so good to know that it's what a strong, smart man said she should do. She immediately dropped her towel, closed the door, and hurried back to her room to do her hair and make-up.

She got through the rest of her morning routine without another brain seize. Admittedly, it was quite a bit shorter since she didn't have to bother with any clothing, and in the end she actually got out the door well ahead of schedule! There was even enough time to stop for a coffee on the way to work...
