Running for mayor

After Amanda leaves your office, you sit there considering the weak crop of candidates and your skyrocketing popularity in the city. You decide that now's a good time to cash in on some of the goodwill you've accumulated in the short time since you obtained the magic rings. Marching into Laura's office, you tell her that you're going to run for mayor, and she's surprised at first, but is soon on board after thinking it through.

She helps you by discussing the logistics of a run and what you should do, before promising to throw the paper's endorsement behind you as the man who will clean up city hall, especially after your exposé of the mayor.

You hurry down to city hall to file the paperwork before meeting up with Amber for dinner. She's apprehensive when she hears the news and her mood changes and she avoids discussing it anymore. Curiously, she declines to go back to your place, saying she's not feeling well, as you leave the restaurant. You don't think anything of it and put her in a cab before going home to prepare for the run.

For the next 2 weeks, you work harder than you've ever had, talking to voters and doing interviews, while continuing to fight crime around the city, making sure that everyone knows about your heroics. As the morning of the election dawns, polls have you with a big lead over the other 8 candidates. You go to the polls that morning with your family to cast your vote, and the media present are already calling you mister mayor.

Indeed, shortly after the polls close, you're declared the winner by a landslide and you receive a congratulatory call from the governor. The next morning, you're sworn in a mayor and you walk into your new office, taking in your surroundings.

You're staring out the window and thinking about your miraculous journey to this point, when there's a knock on the door.
