How will you do battle with Sharcha?

Run past him!

"Ready!?" Sagus yelled to everyone. They nodded, nervous. "Let's GO!" The entire group rushed Sharcha. The snake-man prepared for a fight, but instead the travelers only ran past him. As soon as he got over the brief surprise for this cowardly tactic, he grabbed the cloak of whichever of them was closest at the moment. Marianne yelped, and the group stopped.

"Sagus, help me!" she pleaded. Shracha grinned as Sagus came back at him, this time ready to fight. When he was close enough, Sharcha side-stepped him and shoved him to the ground. When he turned over, he thrust a dagger into Marianne's stomach. She gasped, along with the others. Very soon, her loud screams of torment echoed throughout town and froze Sagus' soul. A faint gurgling could be heard, though only to Sharcha. He loved it. The sound of his venom working, melting the victim's insides. His only regret was not violating the pretty condemned before stabbing her.

Marianne's screams cut abruptly and she fell limp, the gurgling now audible to everyone. The way her body crumpled was too fluid to have still had bones inside her. Sharcha threw her corpse at Sagus' feet. He started at it as Rebecca snarled and pulled her crossbow up with a grim eagerness to avenge her comrade. Before she could aim it, though, Sharcha rushed her, knocking Sophie aside. Rebecca started to scream, but before she could make a sound, the serpentine slashed her neck deep, injecting the venom directly into her jugular vein. The venom dissolved her brain and heart before causing her as much pain as Marianne had gone through. Sagus looked up in terror as another companion fell to this monster's blade.

Sophie couldn't get her mind together enough to even attempt to stand back up, only able to watch Rebecca die and drop beside her. Sharcha loomed over her, enjoying the sight of her weighed down by her own fear. He came down close and licked her face with his long forked tongue. She shrank away, but he persisted. He started to tear her blouse off, when he heard Sagus running at him in a blind fury. He bit Sophie quickly on the neck, then stood up, prepared to finish his all too easy task as Sophie writhed in agony behind him.

Sagus had **** all of his wisdom with the sword from his mind to make room for more rage, letting Sharcha easily dodge his attacks. The villain could hardly believe that Arakarin considered this group of amateurs, these half-capable punks, even worth noticing, let alone a threat. Maybe his master was slipping. Perhaps, Sharcha thought, he was quickly becoming his so-called master's equal. Sagus lunged forward, allowing the snake-man to wrap himself around him, squeezing him tight. Something inside the mage cracked, followed by something else, then five more somethings. He laughed as Sagus struggled in a furious panic, as one of the cracks had apparently taken his lower half out of the fight. "Your quest has failed. With such pitiful abilities, it couldn't have ended any other way. And in the end, your cowardice has ensured the deaths of you and your girlfriends. Ensured your last moments are by far the most painful." Sagus looked at the faces of his friends, their faces corroborating Sharcha's claim. "I only hope you'll make for a better meal than you were a hero."

Sharcha held Sagus' head until the last moment, making sure he couldn't turn away as his gaping mouth rushed toward him, dripping with venom and drool.

Then, all went black.
