Author's Note

Hey, just wanted to take a moment to clarify a few things about Joe and his abilities in the Void—especially since writing natural-sounding exposition has been a pain in the ass. So instead of trying to shoehorn this info into dialogue, I’m laying it out here for both our sanity.

What Joe Can’t Do in the Void:

He cannot directly harm his creations. No twisted "Dexter" scenarios here. Joe’s not a monster—and neither am I.

He can’t bring anyone with him into the Void. (At least, not for now.)

He can’t bring anyone out of the Void. Think "genie rules"—no resurrecting the dead either.

He can’t take items from the Void into the real world. So if he creates something in there, it stays there. No magic props like sonic screwdrivers or Thor's hammer, etc.

He can’t bring anything into the Void except the clothes on his back—and even those revert to how they were when he entered. So no entering in sweats and leaving in Armani.

His powers don’t exist outside the Void. (Again—for now.)

He can’t tell anyone about the Void, how he gets there, or what he does while he's in it. That’s locked down tight. At least for now.

What Joe Can Do in the Void:

He can have more action-packed adventures—think James Bond, MCU, DCU, etc. There will definitely be some high-octane fun.

When he wants to return to his void, a doorway appears. Time freezes in the real world, right where he stands/sits/lies. It stays frozen until he leaves the Void and wills the door shut. At that point, he “pops” back into place—same position, same condition. No fatigue, no injuries, no time lost. Just... sated.

He can eat and drink—but it's purely for pleasure. The Void enhances the taste, and there's no weight gain, bloating, or bathroom breaks. It’s indulgence without consequence.

Speaking of indulgence—he retains every detail of his sexual adventures with total recall. Body, taste, sensation—nothing is lost. The experiences stay with him, but don’t physically wear him down.

Only he can see the XXX movie he’s “recording” inside the Void. Everyone else sees something different, thanks to a "chameleon filter" (Doctor Who fans, you know the vibe). It’s completely unstealable, untraceable, and invisible to others.

Also, I made a change to Joe’s background. He’s now a successful photographer. His once small apartment is now a modest four-bedroom loft, though most of his income goes to the high cost of New York City rent. That detail will matter later on.

The CHYOA (Choose-Your-Own-Adventure) portion of the story is coming soon. Just needed to wrap up the "first act" before diving in.
