Rules 16 - Fair Warning

David placed Sage’s phone onto her office desk, looking down at her glistening face before letting out a satisfied chuckle.

“Sure made a mess out of you this time, didn’t we? Be sure to clean yourself up. After all…” He leaned over and put his finger underneath her chin. “Wouldn’t want any of your office friends finding out what we’re doing in here, would we?”

“If you think fucking me at work is going to be a regular event, you better think twice.” Sage shot back.

“Ah ah ah…” David said, placing his finger over her lips. “Those little games are a thing of the past, Sage. From now on, you do as I say.”

“The DEAL was that you would keep things in reason, I’m not your fucking ****,” Sage said.

“And I will keep things within reason, but you WILL let me fuck you when I say so. No questions.”

“No offense, but I have a sneaking suspicion you don’t know what is and isn’t within reason.”

“I guess you’re going to have to start trusting me.” David’s voice kept an even tempo as he spoke. However, his confidence appeared to have little effect on Sage, who rolled her eyes in response as she slowly pulled herself up by her desk.

“I’ll take your silence as agreement,” David said. “Make sure you send Jeremy the images, he’ll be dying for the details I’m sure.”

Sage began to put her bra back on as David turned and made his way to the office door.

“H-hey! David! I’m fucking naked don’t you dare open the—” Before Sage could finish, David let the door swing wide open as he looked back at her and smirked. Her flustered expression was priceless. He was equally pleased to find the door closed nice and slowly behind him.

He had done it, he had finally tamed the untamable. Sage might still have had some fight in her words, but he knew full well it was just posturing at this point. She was under his thumb, right where she belonged. So long as David played nice enough and kept Jeremy in the picture, Sage’s pussy would be all his moving forward. As he began to become lost in all the possible ways he could have her, David spotted Theo waving at him from across the office floor.

“David!” Theo called, walking over to him quickly. Theo’s hair was disheveled, his shirt half untucked, and looking at how often he glanced back at Sage’s office, it didn’t take a genius to figure out what was on his mind.

“H-hey kid,” David replied.

“So, you and Sage…”

“We had a meeting, yeah,” David said briefly, doing his best to sound calm and collected.

“Seemed like a long meeting.” Theo’s agitated tone took David back, he seemed far too angry given the situation.

“Well, you know how these things go,” David replied.

“Listen, I’d love to hear more about the project they have you working on, I might actually be of some help to you. The brainstorming room is free, you have a few minutes?” Theo asked. David sighed and rubbed the back of his head.

“I… sure kid. Lead the way.” David didn’t like where this was going. The kid didn’t seem like himself. He carried the same look David had seen countless times on men who sat angry at a bar while their girl danced with someone else. The kind of eyes that were looking for a fight where there wasn’t one.

David tried not to think about how pleased Sage would be to see David and Theo fighting over her. Just when he thought he had her pinned down, Sage still managed to keep David on his toes.

The two walked into the meeting room, and as soon as the doors closed, Theo wasted no time launching into David.

“What the fuck was that man?” He asked. David cleared his throat.

“I think it’s pretty obvious. Sage and I… had a moment. It is our arrangement after all.” David replied.

“Yeah? But like, I’m part of that arrangement too now. You didn’t even run it by me? That was pretty fucked up man.”

“Fucked up?” David could feel his heart racing, Theo’s trembling hands made him more uneasy than he would have liked to admit.

“Yeah, fucked up. I don’t know how all three of you did it before but… I’m involved too now, and I’m your fucking friend man. You can’t be fucking Sage like that in front of me whenever you want! It’s not—”

“Kid,” David interrupted, putting his hand on Theo’s shoulder. “Sage… she isn’t your girlfriend. You get that, right?” Theo’s eyes widened nearly as much as his cheeks blushed.

“Of-of course I get that!”

“I don’t know if you do,” David said softly.

“Get your fucking hand off me, man.”

“Look, I know this is a lot. It’s very new, you’ve never done something like this before. And it’s easy to get your head mixed up in it all.”

“Get your HANDS…” Theo slapped David’s arm and took a step back. “Off of me!”

“Theo. Listen. You’ve got to understand kid, you can’t get your feelings wrapped up in this, you can’t get involved with her like that,” David did his best to keep his voice level. He found it damn near impossible with how wired up Theo was becoming.

“First of all, don’t fucking talk to me like I’m a goddamn child. I’ve had my fair share of relationships, I know what the fuck I’m doing. Second, don’t try talking to me like you’re some expert in this shit. You literally started doing this a few months ago, you don’t know what the fuck is right and wrong.” Theo was only a few decimals away from screaming at this point. David stared at him a moment before nodding slowly and looking off.

“Alright, fair enough. You’re not a child, and you’re right, I don’t fucking know what is right and wrong in this situation. So you tell me, what is right, Theo?” David asked.

“What?”

“You’ve got it figured out. So what is it? What does this arrangement with Sage mean to you?” David asked.

“I don’t…” Theo was at a loss for words, David could see the struggle on his face. Theo rubbed his eyes and shook his head. “Jesus fuck man! Why’d you have to fuck her here?”

“It’s not about that kid. You know, I know it. You got to understand, I’m going to fuck her.”

“Yeah, I fucking know dude!”

“Jeremy is going to fuck her.”

“I got it!”

“No kid, you don’t. I can tell by the fucking look on your face that you’re not getting it. You and I are pieces on the board, alright? We fuck Sage because she wants us to and Jeremy likes it. That’s it, that’s what this is.” David said.

“I know…” Theo said. His voice shook as his eyes dropped to the floor. “I know...”

“Jesus,” David shook his head. “Look, I never would have wished this on you. Not in a million years. I know you’re smart kid, you have a good head on your shoulders. But I also know you have a big heart. And someone like Sage, a big heart is easy to… well… someone like her isn’t right for you. Shit, I think she isn’t even right for you in the casual sense. I tried to tell her to back off but…”

“You what?!” Theo’s head shot up. “Did you tell her that just now, after you fucked her?!”

“Actually, before but…”

“Fuck you man! You can’t fucking butt me out of this one, got it? Sage WANTS to be with me.”

“I’m not trying to butt you out of anything I’m just trying—”

“Fuck you, man! We’re done here.” Theo stormed out of the meeting room, pushing the doors hard enough that they slammed on their stoppers. David stood squarely, stunned by what had just happened. He wanted to call after Theo, he wanted to bring the kid back and have him see reason. But there was nothing he could do, Sage had dug his claws into him too deeply, and Theo was gone.

Despite David’s attempt to embarrass Sage, she let out a sigh of relief when her office door closed without incident. She would make him pay for that later.

After promptly locking her door and cleaning up, Sage decided the best course of action was to head home early. To say that David’s surprise meeting had thrown her off balance would be an understatement. She needed a chance to clear her head and think things through. After wrapping up a few emails and stowing away her laptop, Sage exited her office and made her way to the floor’s elevators, tapping the call button and letting out a deep sigh as she massaged her sore jaw. As the elevator dinged, she heard Theo call to her.

“Hey, Sage! Hold up!” He said. Sage turned to him, doing her best not to laugh at his disheveled appearance.

“Theo! What a pleasant surprise, heading home early too?” Sage asked, holding the elevator door long enough for him to step inside.

“I… what? No, I just wanted to talk to you,” Theo said as the elevator closed behind them. A gentle ding signaled the elevator's long descent.

“Alright… what do you want to talk about?” Sage said cooly. She could tell by his cadence that something was clearly off. She guessed it had to do with David, but unless Theo had the strength to speak up about it, Sage was happy to leave him to his own imagination.

“I… look. I know the other night, we were sort of had a date and…”

“Oh my, Theo. If you consider my networking event our first date, then I can’t wait to see what you have in mind for our second,” Sage teased.

“That’s the thing, Sage… I… I don’t see that as our first date,” Theo replied.

Theo’s soft inflection, sincerity, and quivering voice gave Sage pause.

This was the first time that Sage began to take David’s warnings a bit more seriously. It was one thing to tease Theo if he had a crush. It was what she did with all her men, after all. But it was becoming more clear that this wasn’t just a fling for Theo.

Even after participating in the cuckolding threesome with David, he still seemed lost in his own fantasies.

“Theo,” Sage said gently. “I know we had said some things. I know we had shared some… thoughts about one another. But you should know, I’m married.” Sage chose her words carefully. She wanted to keep her toy around if it was possible, but she also needed to make it clear to Theo what this relationship was.

“I know that, I know. I just… listen. I just want to take you on one real date. Just one nice evening where we act fucking normal, have fun, and just talk.”

“And what exactly would we talk about, Theo?” Sage asked. Theo shrugged his shoulders.

“Well, there’s a lot I want to talk about. To be honest, I want to get to know you. I want to know what your favorite colors are. What you like to do for fun. What you dream you’ll be in the future…”

“Oh Theo,” Sage said with a sigh. “That sounds… so boring.”

Theo recoiled, Sage promptly cleared her throat and gave him a polite smile.

“Sorry. Look, I’m not trying to be mean, Theo. Really, I’m not. You’re a great connection, and I don’t mind our little arrangement but…”

“You said you wanted me to give you more than Jeremy ever could,” Theo interrupted. Sage raised an eyebrow.

“You said that, Theo,” Sage responded. The elevator door dinged and opened, and Theo’s eyes widened.

“W-wait but… but you said that you’ve been waiting for someone like me to come along. That means something, right?”

“This is my floor, I have to get off,” Sage said, stepping toward the elevator doors.

“W-wait!” Theo said, holding the door open with his hand. Sage looked into his eyes and sighed.

“I have been waiting for someone like you to come along.” Sage attempted to sound as assuring as possible. She wasn’t lying, after all. It was just becoming very clear that Theo had a very different understanding of why Sage wanted him around.

“I’m so fucking confused,” Theo said, rubbing his hand through his hair. “You drive me crazy, you know that right? Especially after we fucked. Ever since then… I haven’t been able to get you out of my mind. I know it was weird with David there… and also the Jeremy thing but…but I know we connected in a very special way. I could see in your face. I could hear it in your voice!”

“Theo—”

“No, listen! Just give me a chance, alright? Give me a chance to give you one amazing night. From start to finish. Before you say anything else before you say you’re not interested. Just give me one night with you.” The words rushed out of Theo like a torrent. He was nearly breathless when he finished. Sage stared at him thoughtfully while tapping her cheek.

“Alright Theo, one night. But remember what I told you…”

“I know, don’t worry. I get it.”

Sage wasn’t so sure but nodded all the same. “Alright then, shoot me a text with the date and time and we’ll make it work.” Sage stepped away from the elevator, walking towards the parking garage doors.

“You won’t regret this. I promise,” Theo said, more to himself than to Sage as she walked out of this sight.
