Chapter 8 by Morbonics Morbonics

What's next?

Ruby's Daydream

Ruby sat on the edge of her bed, the phone still resting in her lap as her thoughts wandered. Her mind, already restless from the memories of the previous night, drifted to Ethan. She could picture him—his broad shoulders tense, his hands clenched into fists, the quiet protectiveness in his eyes when he stood up for Tiffany. The image of him brought a warmth to her cheeks, a familiar flutter stirring in her chest and spreading downward.

She’d been patient with Ethan, knowing he wasn’t ready to take their relationship to the next level. She respected his pace—she truly did—but under the surface, her curiosity burned brighter with each passing day. Ruby had always been a passionate person, and over time, her mind had begun to wander further into the realm of possibility. What would it feel like to give herself to someone fully? To feel his hands on her skin, his lips exploring hers, the weight of him pressing her into the mattress?

She exhaled, her cheeks flushing deeper. It wasn’t as though she’d left herself completely unfulfilled. In the privacy of her bedroom, she’d allowed her curiosity to take shape. She’d experimented with toys, learning the nuances of her own pleasure, preparing herself for when the moment finally came. She was no stranger to the sensations, and the absence of her hymen was a testament to her self-exploration. Yet none of it could quite capture what she imagined it would feel like to be with Ethan.

Ruby’s fingers unconsciously traced the edge of her blanket as her thoughts spiraled further. She imagined a romantic evening—the two of them curled up on the couch after dinner, candles flickering on the coffee table, soft music playing in the background. The way he’d look at her, his gaze darkening with desire, the way his hands would slide over her body, tentative at first but growing more confident as their connection deepened. She could almost hear the sound of his breath in her ear, feel the heat of his skin against hers.

Her lips parted slightly, her heart racing as the vividness of her imagination made her body ache with longing. But as quickly as the thoughts came, Ruby shook her head and snapped herself back to reality. She stood abruptly, pressing her palms against her cheeks to cool the flush there.

“Get it together,” she muttered under her breath, trying to shake off the lingering haze. Now wasn’t the time to be daydreaming, especially with the day ahead of her.

Ruby moved to the window and drew back the curtain, letting the sunlight fill her room fully. The bright warmth grounded her, reminding her of the tasks she needed to accomplish. There were plants to water, laundry to fold, groceries to buy. She exhaled deeply and pulled herself fully into the present.

Whatever her thoughts about Ethan and her desires, they would have to wait. Today was about taking care of what needed to be done—and later, facing the daunting task of returning to the club. But for now, she focused on the small, manageable steps, starting with her daily routine.
