Route 1

Bianca waves her hand calling me over “Hailey! Over here!”

I wave back a little as I walk twords them at them at the entrance of the route as I get close I give them a little smile “hey guys”

Cheren straight to business “Bianca thought that if we're going to start a journey, we ought to all start it with the same first step.”

Bianca smile “Yeah, Hailey! We're all gonna step onto Route 1 together!”

I smile “sure it sounds like a fun idea”

Cheren “okay, here goes!”

Bianca excited shouts out “HEAVE!!”

We all step forward at the same time out of town and onto route 1, I smile as look at cheren and Bianca “what that was fun right?

Bianca explains “AAAH! W-Whoa, I'm getting waaaaay too overexcited!!”

Cheren who clearly just want to get a move on “Yeah, sure. Okay, the Professor's waiting.”

I roll my eyes a bit as we walk “you know cheer you can get excited by the little thing too”

Cheren almost scoffs at me as we get to the professor “Sorry to keep you waiting, Professor Juniper.”

Juniper: smiles as she looks at us “All present? Then I'll begin my explanation! Meeting Pokémon will automatically fill up the pages of the Pokédex! And! Catching a Pokémon will add further information about it! But still I’ll go over the main points. First, weaken the Pokémon! It's tricky trying to catch a healthy Pokémon. If possible, you can also use your Pokémon's moves to paralyze the Pokémon you want to catch, or put it to sleep! Now then, a Poké Ball present for you all!”

Juniper hands Cheren and Bianca 10 poke balls each, before she gets to me she reaches in her bag and hands me 5 poke balls, she rubs the back of her neck “S-sorry Hailey I must of only grabbed 25”

I look at the poke balls and smile “it’s fine professor I’ll just have to catch Pokémon I really like only” I explain unaware of being able to buy poke balls

Juniper still has a weird little look on her face “well Those Poké Balls are used to catch Pokémon. And once caught, they're also used to carry them around! Now then, I'll be waiting up ahead in Accumula Town!”

Cheren “Well, I'm heading to Accumula Town too.”

I nod “yeah I’m right behind you”

Bianca “Right! And if we don't go there, we won't be able to buy more Poké Balls!”

I glance back at Bianca “you can buy poke balls?”

Cheren shakes his head “yes Hailey you can buy poke balls”

Bianca: “Wait a second! Heyyy! White, Cheren? I just had a great idea! We...”

Cheren interrupts “Well, should we go? The Professor's waiting, remember.”

Bianca stomps her foot and shouts “Would you LISTEN when I'm talking?! How about we have a Pokémon catching competition? And the Pokémon we got from Professor Juniper count! The one with the most Pokémon wins!”

Cheren “ I see... That could be fun, for sure. And it'd fill the pages of the Pokédex too, so the Professor would be delighted.”

I smile “I’m totally I’m gonna catch a ton of Pokémon”

Cheren and Bianca run off there own ways on the route leaving me by myself at the start, I grab my townmap out of my bag and unfold it, I get down on my knees and pace the town map on the ground in front of me “let’s see here route 1, so it’s just a straight shot up to accumula town”

I pick up my map and get up off the ground quickly dusting off my knees “great the should be easy enough to get to”

I start walking down route 1 and I can’t find a single Pokémon, I sigh a little bit getting within the sight lines of Accumula town and not having found any I walk to the entrance and see Bianca and Cheren waiting for me I fake a little smile upset I lost “hey guys”

Bianca grins assuming she won “meand Tepig are an unbeatable team! We're gonna come in first, I'm already sure of it!”

Cheren: “Hailey, would you compare with Bianca?”

I laugh a little nervously “ye-yeah I’ll definitely compare”

Cheren stare at me, his eyes not where they should be making me a little more nervous “Bianca and I are both tied at two Pokémon right now.””

Bianca smiles “Well,Hailey?”

I lower my head a bit as I pull out just oshowotts poke ball “I couldn’t find any”

Bianca: “only one?! That means I win Oh man! Oh, MAAAN!! Having that many Pokémon at once gives me butterfrees in my stomach!”

Cheren: By the way, if you check the Pokédex, it'll tell you how many Pokémon you've seen and caught so far. Well, to Accumula Town! The Professor's waiting!”

The Xtransceiver is ringing beep beep beep

I connect to the call on the Xtransceiver and see juniper through the video chat on the watch

Juniper “hi there! Everybody doing good? Looks like you're starting to get along with more Pokémon!”

I nod “yeah we’re all doing great”

Bianca lOh, Professor! So great “

Juniper “ I'm at the Accumula Town Pokémon Center! I've got some guidance to give you all, so hurry over here!”

Bianca: “Understood! The Pokémon Center it is!”

Juniper says “ Okey-doke! See ya in a few!”

I wave to my watch for a second before feeling a little strange about it “b-bye professor”

Cheren starts walking away “ ...Meaning we just need to go a little further ahead.”
