Roof access with Mia's keycard

A/N: When writing this chapter I got a little carried away and it ended being longer that anticipated so I decided that everyone would be getting two chapters tonight. While I'm here, I'd like to thank everyone who is liking and reading this branch of the Rookie Superhero story. This is the first time I've tried to write since assignments at school and I appreciate all the support given to me. I'm striving to improve and I hope that all of you stay with me on my journey from sucking at writing to being sorta good at it.

Now, without further ado, back to the story

You continue your circuit around the building to look for an entrance but it's all for naught. All the windows are closed and probably locked, and two more women guard the rear entrance. You crouch down, and begin to think through a solution. You don't want to risk detection so close to the laboratory, so trying to either fight or seduce is out of the question. And the likelihood that any of the closed windows aren't locked seems low, so trying to enter that way is probably futile. The next option would be to dig and try to find underground access, but that seemed far too time consuming.

Which left you with the realization that you need to get up to the roof. If you remember correctly from the pre-mission briefing, the plans indicated that there is roof access to the building. You sigh in defeat. Guess climbing is the only option.

You find a ledge and jump up, gripping the cold material in your hands. You effortlessly lift yourself up, the strength provided by the countless nanobots flowing throughout your body. You repeat the process a few times, and soon find yourself upon the flat roof. Smiling, you spot a door and quickly jog over to it. You remove Mia's keycard from your pocket and pass it over the sensor. It glows green and you hear a clicking sound, and you pull the door open, before slipping in and silently shutting it.

Your intel from before indicated that the lab was located on the first floor, so you quickly tiptoe down them, but you needn't worry. The building seems empty at this late of an hour and the only lights turned on are intermittent at best. It is eerily quiet, especially as you cannot hear yourself due to the effects of the nanobots.

It's not too long before you reach your destination, and up ahead there is a familiar figure leaning against the wall.
