Zatanna

You deactivate your silent step and cloaking and cough to get her attention. She whirls around and you think almost see her eyes twinkle upon realizing it was you, but it's gone before you know it. You saddle up next to her and ask her

"Any trouble getting in?"

"Nope," She responds, "How about you?"

"Ran into a guard but got out with her keycard," You say, brandishing one of your spoils from your confrontation with Mia. "What did I miss?"

"I got here about five minutes ago, and I haven't seen anyone patrolling inside the building. I was waiting for you before I infiltrated the lab proper."

You nod, and you walk up to the door and place the card over its sensor.

*Bzzzz* it sounds, turning red in its rejection of you.

"Allow me" Zatanna proffers forth, her luxurious tone soothing over your failure. "kcolnU!"

This is your first time seeing magic up close, and it is as impressive as you imagined. The previously locked door swings open and beckons you to explore the lab in its entirety.

"Impressive," you say, before leading the way further into Dr. Sapphire's sanctum, before stopping, as you are startled by just how advanced this lab is. As a former scientist, you had seen a lot of labs before and this one was as large and advanced as any you had seen. Large tanks adorn the wall and tubes pump a mysterious pink liquid all over a lab.

What catches your attention, though, is a large screen is located on one of the main wall. It lists a multitude of data and test results, and you choose to study it to discern what precisely Dr. Sapphire is doing here.

"I'm going to study this data screen. See if you can find anything else in here, like any journals summarizing her findings or whatnot." You mention to Zatanna. Realizing you just ordered your chaperone of what to do, you blush and turn around to face her, intending to apologize.

"Relax" She says, the grin on her face unable to be contained. "You have a background in this sort of thing, so your instincts are valuable and probably right. Besides, I like a man who takes initiative." She teases.

You quickly turn your red face back to the data, and spend the next five minutes studying it. Your background allows you to understand her research, at least at a surface level. It seems like Dr. Sapphire is designing two separate chemicals. The first, labeled only as chemical W, seems to both improve the intelligence and decrease the sex drive of the rats it has been tested on. This must be the precursor to the medicine that Mia mentioned earlier.

The second chemical, however, is much more dangerous. Designated as Chemical Y, it has been tested on male rats and causes two things. The first is increased sperm production, which you find curious, as why would Dr. Sapphire want males to produce more sperm? You keep on reading, and a chill runs down your spine as you realize what Dr. Sapphire is attempting to accomplish. Chemical Y causes paralysis in most major muscles, as well as severely diminishing the mental capacity of the male rats exposed to the bioweapon.

"Zatanna." You urge after finishing your analysis of the data.

"I know", she interrupts, and you see in her a thick notebook which must be Dr. Sapphire's journal. "Is there any way we can safely destroy both these chemicals without a loss of life?"

"I'm not sure," you reply. "Let me see that notebook." She hands it to you and you frantically flip through it, before finding out exactly what you are looking for. "Alright! It seems that if you expose Chemical W to **** heat and mix it with a supercooled Chemical Y it will neutralize both chemicals and turn it into a harmless mixture of dissolved salts and water! You think we can do that without calling in back up?"

"I definitely can" Zatanna replies, smirking as she rubs her hands together in anticipation.

"Not so fast!" An unfamiliar voice shouts at us.
