Ronan Dworsky

Liam knocked on the door with a sign that said [Ronan Dworsky] on it.

"Yes?"

A man wearing a white coat peaked out.

"Delivery~!"

Starfire said in a cheerful tone.

The man's eyes went over to the pod, and he nodded.

"Ah, right. I was waiting for it..."

Then, his eyes dropped down to Liam.

"...although I wasn't expecting someone else to make the delivery aside from Frederick. Who are you?"

"I'm Liam, Frederick is my dad."

Liam replied.

"He is our young master!"

Starfire added.

"Hmm."

The man paused for a moment.

Then, he held out his hand with a small smile.

"Well, my name is Ronan Dworsky, as you would have probably guessed. Nice to meet you, Liam."

"Nice to meet you too."

Liam shook Ronan's hand.

"So, do I just go now or...?"

"You can, but I was hoping maybe we can have a little talk? Your father and I used to go way back, you see."

Liam grimaced.

He didn't want to be involved more regarding to anything related with his family buisness.

However, Ronan was already stepping aside and ushering them in... and he didn't want to be seen as a rude kid.

"I mean, if it's for a few moments..."

Liam muttered and accepted his hospitality.

As soon as Liam stepped into the office, someone came out from the side door.

"Oh, the package is here. And...?"

The blonde-haired woman tilted her head in confusion, although she put on a light smile.

"They're our new delivery man."

Ronan said as he closed the door behind him.

"Liam, this is Ritsuko. She is my assistant.

Ritsuko, this is Liam, son of Frederick. You remember him, right?"

"It's hard not to."

Ritsuko sighed with a hint of irritation in her voice.

"It was always a coin flip whether you two would go out and get drunk or not."

Liam raised an eyebrow.

He had never seen a Character raise her voice, even for a little, against their master.

Starfire tilted her head too, obviously surprised by this as well.

However, Ronan just laughed it off and offered them seats at the dining room table."

"Where do you want the pod?"

"Come here, I'll show you where we need it."

Ritsuko gestured toward the side room she came from.

Starfire followed Ritsuko to the other room while Liam headed to the dining room.

'What kind of office room has a full-on house attached to it...?'

Liam quickly realized that the inside of the office was much larger than the outside.

"It's one of the many technological miracles RealDreams achieved."

Ronan explained, noticing Liam's thought when he looked around so much.

"With enough money, its also possible to create a new pocket dimension for yourself to live in forever."

"Forever like...forever, forever?"

Liam asked.

He recalled the front desk saying something about overcoming mortality.

Ronan sat across the table.

"If you are asking for complete immortality... then no. We're not quite there yet, and frankly, I don't think even RealDreams are eager to go that far."

"Why not?"

Ronan chuckled.

"Well, we wouldn't want that choice to be irreversible, would we?

Living longer than most without concerns for diseases and aging is what all people strive for some degree, but complete immortality?

That's something we should give a little more thinking before we make it real."

"Uh..."

Liam frowned.

His head filled up with a handful of philosophical questions he wasn't ready to tackle yet, especially when he already had one on the table before coming to this building.

"Hon, why are you using such big words with a kid?"

Someone placed a pair of tea cups with a light scold.

"...!?"

Liam nearly fell off his chair when a pair of huge tits suddenly swung into view.

"Oop."

The sudden movement seemed to have startled the Character as well.

She quickly stepped back and covered her breasts with her hands.

"Sorry, was it a bit too much?"

"No—I mean, uhm..."

Liam struggled to explain that he wasn't entirely shocked by her attire(he had Marin walk around butt-naked all the time, afterall), it's just that he hadn't expected something like this to come out of nowhere.

But his words failed him...and it didn't help that he had trouble taking his eyes off from the voluptuous body.

"No need to worry, I would have had Mitsuki dressed up if I wanted to keep her all to myself."

Ronan said after take a sip from his cup.

He glanced at Mitsuki, who slowly lowered her hand from her breasts.

"If you want to add milk to your tea, you can just ask me..."

She muttered before going back to the kitchen.

Liam closed his eyes.

He decided not to think too deep about her finishing words and took a sip from the tea cup.

Thankfully, it didn't taste half-bad without the milk.

"So... is there something you wanted to talk about?"

Liam tentatively glanced over at Ronan.

Ronan nodded and put down the cup.

"Yes, I've heard a lot about you from your father over the years, Liam.

And correct me if I'm wrong, but this looks like your first delivery... so I have to ask.

Have you gained your first Character? If so, was it recent?"

"Uh, yeah... actually. How did you know that?"

Liam answered, surprised.

Ronan nodded.

"Fredrick always said he'd start handing down his buisness to his son once he got his first Character."

"Wait, hold on."

Liam quickly put up his hand to stop the conversation.

"I don't intend on taking this job over or something. I'm doing an errand just this once since my parents are on vacation."

"Oh, really?"

Liam's words seemed to take Ronan by surprise.

"But then..."

He rubbed his chin with a small frown as if something didn't line up.

But only a few seconss later, Ronan shrugged and turned his eyes back to Liam.

"Well, let's focus on you, then.

Since this is your first time being a Master—or Owner, as technical terms... how do you feel?"

The question hit Liam like a truck.

A huge lump formed up in his throat as he tried to answer.

Liam gulped down the rest of the tea, but that didn't help in easing the tension.

"It's not as easy as you assumed, is it?"

Ronan said with a warm smile.

"...no."

Liam agreed.

Ronan nodded and stood up.

"Well then, I'm happy to tell you that you came to the right office.

My job has generally two sides. One is taking dangerous Characters, like the one you just delivered, and making them..."Safe".

The other is more tailored to the Prime Humans, especially those who just got their Characters.

Would you mind following me?"

Ronan headed to the side door where Ritsuko and Starfire headed in a few minutes ago.

Liam hesitated for a moment... then followed him to the side room as well.
