Ring ring

Kelsey gets up out of his lap and stretches her hands out to Jack to help him up. Jack takes her hands and stands up. He hits the grass off his butt and lower back. He could see Kelsey looking at his butt when he did, should he offer her the opportunity to clean said grass off said butt? No it was too soon, he didn't want to **** anything that might make her uncomfortable.

"So," he said hesitantly, weary of what he was about to ask, "How's your grandpa doing?"

Her face changed from content to concerned, "He's um...he's okay," she said, "I mean he can't really get better, all we can really do is cope with it."

"You going to see he again today?" he asked

"Mhmm" she replied

"You want me to come with?" he asked with all sincerity.

She looked up at him with endearing eyes, "Aww, that's really sweet, but it's...like I don't really..."

"It's okay, you don't need to explain, I get it." he said

She looked down at the ground and smiled.

They walked inside the school as soon as the lunch bell rang, Jack walked Kelsey to her locker.

"What class do you have next?" he asked

"Chemistry?" she said unsure, Jack looked at her suspiciously, "Yeah chemistry, sorry new schedule, new year and all."

Jack smirked, "Alright well..." Jack wondered if he should hug her goodbye like she hugged his last time. I mean they're not dating, why should he feel obligated too? But then again she might want him to, but why wouldn't she just initiated it th---- Jacks train of thought got interrupted by two arms being wrapped around his waist and an ear pressed up against his chest.

"See you later Jack," she said as he released her hug and walked down the hall smiling at him.
