The square is empty
The townspeople were spooked by the knight's anger, and had decided it was better to keep their distance rather than become collateral damage of her murderous mood. Only the proverbial tumbleweeds remain between you and her, but beyond that the square is entirely abandoned. You're surrounded by a structure of wooden collonades, where stalls can set up on market days.
