The goth girl looked up from her phone. "Matt, right. You slumming again?"

"That's not the way I look at it."

"Don't you have porn to look at or something."

"Because they're naked and getting fucked and the girls on the bus aren't. Plus they're hot and we're a bunch of losers."

That might be true but Matt wasn't ready to give up on being something better than a loser at his new school. "Those jocks that rule the school, in a few years they'll be looking for jobs selling used cars. Those sexy cheerleaders will be fat and pregnant, whining over what little their used car salesman husbands bring home. It's people like us, people with brains who are willing to take chances and tryh new things that will be creating the world. So, no, I don't think any of us on the bus are doomed to be losers."

Cassandra laughed. "Boy, little Mr. Optimism, aren't you?"

Was he? Nobody had ever accused him of anything like that before. "Maybe. Look, I'm new in this circle of hell. Is there anything worth doing around here that you don't need a car for?"

She considered for maybe two seconds. "Nope."

"That's what I was afraid of."

He looked to make sure she wasn't talking into her phone. "Me? Student Council? Why would I run for office in a stupid organization with no real power to make a difference?"

"Why indeed? So, go away."

Her goth-ripped jeans and baggy shirt didn't do much for her and it looked like she could easily stand to lose twenty pounds but a lot of that twenty pounds ended up in her tits which was all good by Matt. The idea that the daughter of some Hill millionaire played at being a rebel and a Goth bugged Matt a little--his family worked their buns off to afford a converted servants' quarters that probably had less square footage for the whole family than this girl had for her torn jeans collection. Still, better to be an aspiring rebel than an aspiring bully like a lot of the other students he'd met.

"I'm Matt," he said. "I'm new here."

"Yeah, I figured. Nobody to talk to, right? So you figured you'd try to make time with some chick who's a reject.

He looked more closely at that tattoos that covered her neck and hands. A few of them seemed professional but many were sloppy... the kind of thing a girl might do with a mirror if she wanted to create a lot of pain and bother her parents.

"Actually, I thought you looked interesting."

"Sure you did. Like you wanted to grab my interesting tits or something."

"The idea has its appeal," Matt admitted. "I'm not completely non-superficial."

She laughed. "Yeah, not completely. Hi Matt. I'm Cassandra."

"Hi Cassandra." He paused a second to gather his courage. "So, the tit-grabbing thing, is it a requirement, or can I like take a rain check for after I get to know you better?"
