Christmas party at work

There wasn't a part of her at all that wanted to be here, but as Nelson had to remind her every day until this point, she had made a promise to go and now she was here. Unable to escape, Morgan steeled herself, but when the elevator door opened she was greeted by loud Christmas music and people singing. Her brow rose as her and Nelson wandered down the hall and towards the noise.

A few dozen people were milling about and conversing quite lively as the music played on. A smaller group was singing along to the music and were cheering each other anyone who passed too close. Merriment was in abundance and the people her husband worked with were livelier than she had expected. She was pleasantly surprised.

"Okay, so my boss is over there." Nelson said pointing to a notably older gentleman near the temporary bar they had set up in the corner of the large room. "They did a good job moving all the cubicles out of the way." He added. "Oh, and there's Theo. He's a dick." Nelson muttered.

Behind her, Morgan heard a couple more elevators ding and open. Joyous laughter filled the hall and put a smile on her face as more people joined them. Each and every last one of them were wearing ugly Christmas sweaters, she noted.

"Why didn't you say it was an ugly sweater party?" Morgan asked, her brow furrowed.

"You would've gone along with it?" Nelson asked, clearly surprised.

"Of course! Ugh. It is what it is." Morgan sighed and crossed her arms across her chest.

"Well I'm going to get a drink, you want anything?" Nelson asked.

"Yes, you know what I like." Morgan winked.
