Resist the temptation

You raise the pen up to Jessica, your fingers only an inch away from the button. It's as if the pen wants you to zap her, like it wants to control your mind. The temptation is so great to zap Jessica with the pen. She totally deserves it, zapping you, Trish and her family. Why should she be exempted from this **** you all had to endure? But when you look at Jessica, the lines of tears dripping down on the floor, you feel another thing besides the temptation: compassion. Jessica clearly regrets her actions, why should she be another victim in all of this? The circle has to begin somewhere and ends as well.

With the greatest of will you lower the pen. Jessica looks surprised at this reaction. She wants to come closer to you, but you stop her.

"Don't come closer Jessica. No, it's not like that." You tell her noticing her fearful expression. "These pens are way to dangerous for anyone to handle. We need to find a way to get rid of them; to make sure nobody messes with these things anymore."

"I..I understand David. Thanks for not zapping me with them." Jessica tells you glad you didn't go through with your initial plan.

"But where to go with these things?" You ask as you look at the innocent looking pens. "Would they be like the one ring?"

"I sure hope not. I'm not sure I know any live volcanoes around here." Jessica says trying to cheer things up. "Perhaps there is something written on them?" Jessica suggests.

You look closely at the pens. Now that Jessica mentions it, there does seem to be something written on them. "I can see something is written here, but it's way too small to read."

"Perhaps you can use a magnifying glass. We have one downstairs." Jessica tells you. She comes closer to you, but automatically you take a step backward holding the pens behind your back.

"Relax David. I just want to go downstairs to get the magnifying glass." Jessica tells you worried.

"I'm sorry Jessica." You tell her holding the pens in front of you. "It's just that these pens have some sort of power over you, like they command you to protect them."

"I know." Jessica says softly. "Come with me then." She says going down the stairs already. However out in the hallway you look at the door leading to the bedroom of Jessica's parents. Inside are the skins of the people Jessica zapped, except for Trish who is still lying in Jessica's room.
