Ren Amamiya (Joker)

The Tokyo subway was just as packed as Ren remembered. It was almost nostalgic. With all these people crowded together, the summer heat was even more pronounced, almost unbearable. But he wouldn't have to wait long now. His stop was coming up next.

Out of Ren's bag, a disgruntled meow came out. The bag shuffled, and Morgana was finally able to poke his head out of the opening. "Finally! Do you have any idea how hot it is inside that thing?" the not-cat cat complained to Ren, who could only give an apologetic smile.

"But I shouldn't focus on some minor annoyance," Morgana admitted. "We've got a big reunion to be excited about! It's hard to believe we're finally going back to see everyone again!"

Ren nodded in agreement. It had been a few years since Ren's probation ended and he moved back home. He had met up with his friends a few times since then, but their last get together hadn't been for a full year now. The older members of the group were busy with college, while the youngest of the group were just finishing their last year of high school. But this summer, everyone's schedules lined up perfectly. This was just the opprotunity they had all been waiting for.

Ren pulled out his phone and checked the group chat, reliving the excitement from the past few days.

"For Real? Do we finally have a few weeks where everyone is free to meet?"

"That's right! My magazine shoot finishes up this weekend, so I'll be able to come back to Tokyo on Monday!"

"And my exhibit shall be wrapping up by next Tuesday. I regret that I'll be a day tardy, but I hope you can forgive me."

"It's no problem at all. I think everyone's just relieved that our plans are finally lining up, even if we're off by a day or so. Even Sis has a break from work, if we want to invite her too."

"Mwhahaha! It's been so long! The gang is coming back together! We'll even get to have our fearless leader back in town."

"Both him and Mona-chan too! I can hardly wait to see you all again in person!"

Ren smiled as he reread the messages. But when he went back to the homescreen, he noticed something very peculiar on his phone. It was the MetaNav app, back again. He squinted at the app, remembering all the trouble it caused all those years ago. While he definitely didn't regret his time being Joker, he was hoping for a much more peaceful visit to Tokyo this time around.

Ren's finger hovered over the icon.
