Before you can even think about talking sense into her, Lady Cinder is surrounded by a brilliant orange glow. A bright light emanates from her eyes, and her blonde hair has taken on a more amber tone. As you open your mouth to try to calm her down, the sound of your words is overshadowed by the roar of a fireball igniting in her right hand. Why??? You haven’t even done anything yet and your life is already in danger!

In a last minute panic, you grab the lid of a nearby trash can and hold it up to stop the impending flames. A fierce impact strikes the lid, knocking you to the floor but leaving you otherwise unharmed. If she’s getting this serious, you really have ****.

You’re still not entirely used to using your powers yet, and a high stakes situation like this probably isn’t the best one for learning. But you have to try! The blonde is closing in on you, another fireball prepped in her hand, but you halt her approach by throwing the trash can lid at her, which she dodges gracefully. Right as she begins to launch another attack, you hold your hands to your temples and concentrate with all your might! …Is it working? Yes! It’s working!

An intense, high-pitched screeching sound is blasted into Lady Cinder’s mind, stopping her dead in her tracks as she thrashes about while covering her ears. Out of your assortment of mental-based superpowers, this is probably your most practiced one, and it’s apparently paying off. You get to your feet while maintaining the **** on your opponent. You’ve incapacitated her, but… now what? Is this the part where you hit her with something to knock her out? That’s not something you really want to do. You’re so frail it probably wouldn’t do much anyway. And any sort of rigorous activity would risk breaking your link with her brain as well, so… you’ll just keep doing this until she passes out from the stress. That should work, right?
