Relaxation

I must be honest with myself. After infiltrating Cyberdyne and then blowing it up, I was tempted to go after another branch or maybe go after some of the workers to ensure Skynet would never be. However then it dawned on me. I needed to take a break.

If I kept going non stop, then I'd be no different from the machine who's body I stole. So in order to celebrate my little victory, I decided to take the day off and relax and enjoy myself, and what better way to do it than to go to a nearby pool to relax. Sure it wasn't the same as when I was human, but I could make do.

The liquid metal that coated my body and allowed me to shapeshift, also acted as seal against the water. I didn't need to worry about about wetting my host's insides while I bathe. Of course there was another problem. I was too dense. Upon trying to float, I found myself quickly sinking to bottom of the pool. That was no good. It could give away my identity as a machine, plus it was also annoying, so I carefully moved myself to shallower waters. That's when I found the other issue when I tried to come out of the water.

"Hey babe."

I was continuously getting cat called by various guys while I tried to relax myself. It was very annoying. Don't get me wrong, I did liked the attention and I did like showing off my new body, but it was a little frustrating when they wouldn't stop. Couldn't these people just be shy perverts who simply lusted from afar and with respect.

Ah who am I kidding? Some people just didn't think with there brains. It was a blessing and a curse. Although, I shouldn't complain I did ask for it. Well it was time to move on. I looked over at the other people at the pool before I spotted someone nearby. It was my best friend, Derek Reese, or rather it was my former friend Derek.

Technically speaking we weren't friends now given the whole me being killed and possessing a new body and identity but I'm sure I could make friends with him now. After all I knew him, he was a nice guy and he was also a bit of loner like me. I sauntered over to him, taking care to avoid some crowds till I got close enough.

"Hey." I greeted as I got close to him. "Is this seat taken?" I asked innocently.

"Uh...no." He answered nervously. Clearly he wasn't used to a pretty girl just approaching and talking to him.

"Mind if I sit here?" I asked. He simply gestured to the seat and I sat down. My skin still dripped with water. "It's a nice spot." I told him.

"Yeah, it took me a while to get." He answered.

"Cool." I told him. "So are you with anyone?" I asked. I knew he wasn't. He didn't have a girlfriend but he did enjoy swimming and of course, seeing girls in swimsuits was a plus.

"No, I'm just by myself." He answered.

"Oh that's perfect." I spoke. Then I made myself looked embarrassed when he looked at me. "Sorry that came out wrong," I lied. "It's just I was wondering if you could do me a favor." I told him.

"And me being alone can help with that?" He deadpanned.

"Well I was wondering if you could be my boyfriend, well pretend to be." I told him. "A lot of guys have been harassing me, and I was wondering if I had a bf, even if it was fake, they'd back off."

"Oh uh...okay." He agreed. "I mean, I don't see why you'd pick me." He wondered aloud.

"Eh...you look like a nice guy." I answered.

"Thanks I guess." He answered. "I'm Derek by the way."

"Cameron." I answered. "Nice to meet you Derek, I hope we can be friends" I told him.
