Recruiting a gym partner.

With my gym bag slung over my shoulder, my singlet on to show off the pump, and a pair of loose-fitting track pants, I make my way out of the elevator and out into the quiet lobby. I look over at the reception desk, Heidi is sporting a new hair do, cut to be significantly shorter, a sporty bob, the soft airy layers frame her face and end just below her chin, she's styled it so the part on her head is slightly off centre, the assymetrical and aesthic look suiting her soft face nicely. Heidi looks up and smiles as she looks me up and down, her eyes resting on my arms for a second longer than necessary, her eyes shift to my face.
"Erik! You going to the gym?"
"I was planning on checking this newer gym out, Spades Side? Vi mentioned that she heard it from you." I say.
Her face drops slightly, and her gaze drops back to her computer, "Yeah, we get along really well. We were talking about gym and exercise and all that kind of stuff."
She's feeling guilty.
"Going to a new gym is daunting." I look at my watch. "Is your shift over soon? Want to accompany me?"
She hesitates, her eyes dart back up as she looks not at my face, consciously avoiding my eyes before nodding, "Sure, I'm done in half an hour?"
I lean on the reception desk and grin, "I can wait."

Heidi clicks away at the keyboard in front of her and I take a moment to admire the shape of her face, down to her shoulders and arms, even under a blouse, the sharpness of her shoulders and the evidence of her commitment to working out evident. I see her face blushing, she knows I'm watching her. As much as this would be a good opportunity to flirt, the elephant needs to be addressed.
"I'm glad you and Vi get along."
She twitches slightly and continues typing, "Yeah, we get along super well, I kind of struggle to make friends, so I don't want to do anything that would affect it." Her eyes meet mine meaningfully.
I cock my head and smile softly, "I get that... The lord and Vi know that I'm the same." I look at her hand, her thumb rubbing her finger nervously. I continue, "Vi and I know that secrets are good in a relationship sometimes."
Her eyes shoot up.
"I'm pretty good at, and I think she is too."
God, that was clumsy, but I don't want to expose the way our relationship works just yet. I need her to think that this is something naughty, something wrong, something exciting.
She blinks rapidly and grabs her phone, her soft voice stutters, "I'll uhm... I'll think about it... Sorry, I'll have to cancel that gym session, something came up." She awkwardly turns her phone to me, but turns it back just as quickly.
I nod and straighten out, "Let me know Heidi, I would love to work out with you, get some sweat going."
I turn and leave her there, resisting the urge to look back and see if my line had any affect on her.
