Recheck the old files.

It all seems so long ago, even though it really hasn't been that long. As the computer has booted up you quickly look at the files you got the last time you tried to unpack the application. Last time, all the files had the text "don't go prying where you don't belong." in them... Would anything change?

"Right... That's not helpful." you then open the application. "What?" a small blue text in the top left corner had shown up that wasn't there before, and definitly isn't there on your phone...

It says "Update available". Why didn't something like that show up on the phone? Does the app not allow for updates through the phone app? If so, why? A lot of new questions kept popping up, and you've only been at this for a couple minutes... But none of this was what you were looking for!

"Fuck it," you say to yourself "might as well update." and you click on the little text.

The app turns into a completely grey box. Then a small loading bar appears that slowly fills up stating it's downloading, then extracting, then installing.... Done. The app returns to it's original screen, no visible changes, but then a pop up appears welcoming you to version 1.0.4

"Wait... 1.1.1? There have been multiple updates and fixes?" in the pop up is also a button to open the changelog. You quickly click it to see if there is any interesting information in it.

1.0.0: Release.
1.0.1: Implementation of anti-hacking measures & explanations for new users.
1.0.2: Blocking users editing other users.
1.0.3: Fixed spelling in explanation text.
1.1.0: Implementation of contact functionality.
1.1.1: Implementation of requested functionality block access to app on users device unless permitted.

"Wait... REQUESTED?!" you think to yourself. "How does someone request a feature without knowing who the creator is? Does someone KNOW the creator?"

Suddenly your phone buzzes, which causes you to jump up. You grab your phone to see what's up, a notification from TransDev?

"The linked app and source program are out of sync, please re-sync with the source." as you read this you open the app on your phone, everything is greyed out and you can't interact with anything. Thinking back, you did send the app to your phone through the program on your computer. You turn back to your computer and click on the same button you did the first time.

Before you do anything else, you run the same code you did the first time to see if anything in the files has changed between versions, but the unpacking will take a while. But now it's the app on your phone, overwriting the old version and suddenly the phone buzzes in your hand again. A quick look through the app and you can safely state that visibly nothing has changed. You find the contact button, and it's attached to all the people you've saved in your quick access menu. You open Brenda's page and push it and suddenly your phone starts calling her.

You hear a exhausted "Hello?" coming from your phone. "Brenda? Is that you?" you ask. "What...? Alice? How did you get my number?" "Don't worry about that, I just wanted to test something... I'll see you on Monday!" Before hearing a response you hang up. "Weird. So I can just call ANYONE now?" you say to yourself, "that's neat, but why?"

That's when you notice it... at the bottom of your quick select list is a button that just says contact instead of a name. It's slightly unnerving, but you decide to press it anyway. Suddenly the phone starts calling someone, but no name is shown. It's ringing and ringing... and then, a voice "Hello Alice, what can I do for you?" You don't recognise the voice, it sounds like a man in his teens. "Eeeh... Who is this?" you ask. "I am your TransDev support spokesperson. If you need help or have a request for the program I am the contact point between you and the developer."

Your mouth hangs open. You're not entirely sure what to do with this information. "And no, before you ask, I do not know who the developer is and even if I did I couldn't tell you. Sorry. It's one of the few rules we have to follow." the young man tells you. You compose yourself to the best of your abilities before you speak. "Alright, then I would like to ask for your support in a matter that has me and my roommate quite puzzled and slightly worried." you begin, "You see... Wait, what should I call you?" "Martin." "right, you see Martin. There is another user in my school, and he has recently started editing my friends, and I believe he does it to taunt and bully me and my friends."

As you hear Martin scribbling some things on some paper you wait expectantly for him to answer. But instead you are met with silence... More scribbling and paper noises can be heard, but Martin isn't speaking. Then suddenly "We've logged you complaint and we'll get back to you with suggestions tomorrow or the day after. Anything else Ms. Stephenson?"

You're completely stunned. That's it? You didn't know what to expect, but you definitely expected more than that. But instead, all you can say is "No... No I suppose not, thank you Martin." "No trouble at all, good evening." and he hangs up.

In the mean time, your hacky unpacking program finished running. But now all the files say "Naughty naughty. Just call your personal support contact instead." "Fine, screw you." you think to yourself. Suddenly your door opens and Megan stands in the opening with a towel wrapped around her, a wicked smile on her face and a slight bulge showing. "Hey Al, you ready to surprise the delivery guy?"

You look at Megan before lowering your head into your hands. "For gods sake Megs... Also!" You suddenly jump up and get in her face "Delivery guy? I thought you said you were cooking?" you say while trying to look as threatening as possible. This fails completely, as Megan leans forwards a bit and gives you a quick kiss before doing a heel-turn and walking away, "Fine, I'll go do it myself!" you quickly shake it off(™) and follow behind her yelling "Megs! No! Wait!"
