Reality dawns on Lauren

Lauren was shaking with rage and humiliation. Debra had just called her fat in so many words! No one talked to Lauren like that! At least, no one did when she had clothes on! Now, since she'd been naked Debra openly mocked her, Kyle had talked back to her and everyone laughed at her! Along with her clothes she'd lost all status, all authority and respect. The thought terrified Lauren.

Debra, having gotten the last word, turned and left, chuckling to herself the whole way. Lauren scrambled to the door, throwing it shut and slamming her bare back to it, as though more gawkers would kick down her door at any moment. She struggled to steady her breath. Slowly, as the embarrassment and shame left her, the reality of her situation began to dawn on Lauren. Hundreds of people had seen her naked. Would life ever be the same again?
