Ready for a showdown

You decide that it's time to end this feud. You looked at the last time stamp on the video, and it was 2 hours ago. Activating all of your magic rings at once, you teleport into the hotel room you saw in the video, and you see two things immediately: your sister sleeping soundly under the covers on the bed, and Bruno sitting silently at the table, sipping red wine from glass.

You're invisible, but somehow Bruno knows to suddenly look in your direction. He probably calculated how long it would take for you to view the video.

"Let's end this. There's no winner here if we keep going," he says quietly, looking solemn.

You think maybe he's bluffing, but he really seems to be staring straight at you, so you deactivate your invisibility ring. He doesn't even blink. You have to admit, after all that has gone down between you 2, you still kind of admire the man.

"I have 5 rings, you have 1. Eventually, I'll win," you respond.

Bruno shrugs. "Maybe. Or maybe I'll get lucky," he says with a sigh. "After all this, aren't we just about where we started?"

You don't respond immediately, **** to acknowledge that he has a point. No matter what, you still haven't been able to negate the power of his 1 ring. You could keep trying, but you'd always be looking over your shoulder and worrying about what Bruno is up to or what diabolical plan he has to outwit you. Since coming into possession of the magic rings, you thought life was going to be carefree and you'd be able to do whatever you want. Having an rich and resourceful archnemesis seems the opposite of that.

"What then?" you say. "We just go our separate ways and vow never to cross paths?"

Bruno shakes his head. "Too late for that. The power we have... is too great to not intertwine now that we know of each other. And there will be others. Trust me," he says grimly. There seems to be a story behind his words, but now's not the time to ask about it. "No, we must find a way to ensure that our fates are joined together, so that we can move forward."

"And how do you propose to do that?"

Bruno nods in the direction of your sister in the bed. "As every great empire or family has done," he says.

It takes you a while to understand what Bruno is saying. "You mean... my sister. You want her to marry you? She would never do that," you respond through gritted teeth.

Bruno shrugs. "She's lying in the bed, isn't she? Plus, I'm not going to make her. You are."

"You want me to use mind control on my sister?! That's-"

"And Carmen will marry you. I'll see to that," Bruno adds before you can finish your sentence. The second part of his proposal stuns you and for a while, you stand there with your mouth open, unsure of how to respond.
