Reaching the restaurant

"Table for two!" Brain said. The server nodded smiling at the happy couple, and soon she directed them to a booth. Two big menus were placed in their hands.

"Let me know if you need anything," the server intoned.

"Thank you, we're fine for now," replied Brian, and as the server left the pair looked at the menus. "Hmmmm..." Brain murmured.

Andrew looked up and saw a furrowed brow on his friends face. Looking back down at the menu, Andrew saw why. These prices were... not small, and Brian had promised to pay for both of him. Damn, why had Brian committed to all this without checking the restaurant's prices first?

"Are you, ummm, happy with the selection?" Andrew inquired, hoping he might give Brian an out to spending all this money.

"Oh yes, I'm thinking of going for the salmon."

Damn, why was he so committed to this? thought Andrew. Looking through the menu, he looked for the cheapest thing he could order.

"I think I'll have the salad!" he said finally.

"Are you sure?"

"Of course! ... Gotta watch my figure!" Andrew replied with a playful sway.

"Oh, you look great already!"

"Hey, this takes effort! You think I wake up looking like this?"

"I dunno I haven't slept with you yet!"

Andrew shot the most baleful of looks at Brian's giggling face. Throwing a napkin at it for good measure.

Brain burst out laughing at this point. "Haha, sorry... I'm a bit inexperienced with talking to women. Don't go on dates with them often."

"I can see why!"

Brain laughed at the response.
