Brian continues the humour

Pretending to be annoyed at Brain, Andrew looked back at the menu shaking his head. The movement suddenly reminding him of the expertly mussed red hair that was coming out of his head.

"Hey, you're not too mad at me are you?"

Andrew lowered the menu. "Well, you've mentioned underwear and sleeping with me in the first 20 minutes of us meeting, so I have to say, your first impression need work."

"Alright, look why don't we start over. Hello I'm Brain."

Andrew scrunched his eyes. Was he trying to add another layer of pretend on top of their existing level of pretend? "But we've known eachother for a while havn't we? Brian and Andrea? Wouldn't starting over means we forget all of that?

Brian gave a pained expression. "Cut me some slack, please?"

Andrew sighed and reached out a hand with pink nails. Deadpan he said "Hello Brian, I'm Andrea."

Brian reached over and shook firmly. "Nice to meet you Andrea. Tell me, do you have sex on a first date?"

"Oh COME ON!" Andrew let go and practically slapped Brian's hand away. Brian couldn't hold back the giggles. "That's it I'm leaving," picking up the pink purse, Andrew looped it over his shoulder. Shuffling in the seat, dress skirt still holding his legs together, he got to the edge of the booth seat.

"Oh, no look I'm sorry. I was just kidding."

Andrew got his pink heeled shoes onto the ground and stood up.

"Look, please forgive me." Brian pleaded, standing up as well, "I was just trying to... lighten the mood. Make us more relaxed."

Andrew paused. On one hand, he was having fun playing the role of the spurned date, it might teach Brian a thing or two, having him try to chase after an offended date, and would get them out of this restaurant without Brian having to pay a fortune. On the other hand, it might be best to be more forgiving because this really was... Brian's first ever date. Aside from the intended confidence boost, wasn't it best he made all his mistakes here with a friend rather than with a real woman?
