Andrew stays.

"All right." Andrew relented, and slid back into the booth. "But that's two strikes."

"Fair enough." Brian chuckled.

It was at that point that the server returned and the couple placed their orders.

"Anything to drink?" the server asked, after he finished writing down the orders.

Andrew was about to speak up, when Brian interjected.

"How about some wine?" Brian asked.

Andrew checked his phone, which showed that at least it was a suitable time to be drinking, so Brian was on the right track.

"Which wine would you like?" the server replied, handing Brian a wine menu.

"Your cheapest bottle, please." Andrew quickly snatched the wine menu from Brian's hands.

Brian snatched it right back.

"No, no, dear. Nothing is too expensive for my date!" Brian smiled, before turning to the server. "Your second cheapest bottle, please."

"Of course, sir." the server rolled his eyes, took the menus and walked away.

"How was that?" Brian asked.

"Well, I wouldn't say ordering the second cheapest was your best idea, but you've got the spirit." Andrew replied, laying his arms onto the table.

Brian grabbed Andrew's hands and held them tightly.

"I don't think I ever realized just how gorgeous your eyes are." Brian smiled.

"Is this part of the game?" Andrew thought. "Or is he really saying this?"

"Oh, uh, thanks." Andrew said, pulling one of his hands back and brushing a strand of hair out of his face. "You have nice eyes as well."

"How am I doing?" Brian asked.

"Better." Andrew replied, just as the server returned with two glasses of white wine and placed them in front of the couple.

"Cheers?" Brian asked, picking his glass up.

"Cheers." Andrew nodded weakly, following suit with his own glass.

They clinked their glasses and took a sip of the wine. It wasn't great, but it would do.
