Reach for the one on the right

With the Pokeball in hand, you watch as Blue grabs the other one and immediately calls the Pokemon out, revealing it to be a Dratini. While it might not be much now it can eventually become a particularly powerful combatant later on when it evolves into Dragonite, it's final form.

You decide to call out yours as well, and you are cautiously optimistic seeing as how the Pokemon is Eevee. Overall a pretty versatile choice, even if it lacked the kind of kick you were hoping for your first Pokemon. Your mind takes you back to the Eevee cosplay girl in the video you watched this morning, and thankfully you are able to keep the reaction in your pants down to a single twitch before pressing the thought to the back of your thoughts, not needing your rival to see a tent in your pants and call you out on it.

Professor Oak gives you and Blue some information on your Pokemon. Unfortunately, he doesn't tell you anything you didn't already know. Nothing that would be immediately useful, but it does give you some food for thought. He also proceeds to inform you of your Pokemon's genders: Eevee being a female, while Dratini is a male. You could swear that Blue's face twists into a small scowl at that, but it passes by fairly quick and you're not even entire sure if that's what you witnessed at all. Professor Oak didn't appear to notice it, or he wasn't focused on it at the time, so you decide to worry about it later.

With your new Pokemon at your side, you prepare to head back home and pick up a few things before heading out. You'll have to go to the next town to pick up some Pokeballs and other essential supplies, but if you're quick enough you might still be able to locate that yellow rodent from before and probably catch up. Hopefully you and Eevee will be able to work on your coordination on the way to Viridian City.

Unfortunately, Blue jumps in front of you before you reach the door. She has a smug smile on her face as Dratini jumps in front of her.

"Where do you think you're going, Red!? I haven't gotten a chance to see how strong my Pokemon is! We're going to have a battle!"
