Rather disturbing news

The four members of team CFVY were casually laying around their dorm room one week night. Yatsuhashi was doing push-ups off in the corner, Velvet was looking through pictures she had taken that day, Fox was taking a shower, and Coco was idly looking at her scroll, reading whatever she happened to come across. All was poised to be a regular, mundane evening for the second year team. That is, until Coco got a text from a friend in the fashion industry. It was a link, with the words "You need to see this!!!!"

Shrugging, Coco tapped the link, and she was brought to a news page, showing an article published earlier today.

Solena Fabrics: Worse than SDC?

This, at the very least, caught Coco's interest. Solena Fabrics was the biggest fashion names in Vale, and one of the biggest in Mistral. It accounted for nearly all of Coco's wardrobe, for it's wide variety of styles and low prices. And she also knew how bad SDC was with it's employees. Everyone did. If Solena was worse than them...

Relax, Coco said to herself. News stories get blown out of proportion all the time.

Coco then began reading the article, and quickly realized that that wasn't the case, here. The sites where their items were produced were, apparently, notorious for accidents among the workers. According to the article, roughly one or two every month. And when they did happen, the executives were quick to bury it. Several attached interviews with former employees easily verified all of this.

On top of that, if a new designer learned of this and tried to report on it, Solena would blacklist them in the industry, making it almost impossible for them to get work with any other company.

"Shit," Coco said, causing Velvet and Yatsuhashi to look over curiously.

"What's wrong, Coco?" Velvet asked, walking over to her friend.

Coco quickly showed her screen to Velvet.

"Look at this shit!" Coco said, her voice tensing from the anger she was feeling. "How can these people be so terrible?"

Velvet skimmed the article for herself, relaying the important points to Yatsuhashi and Fox, who had come out of the bathroom by now.

"Those poor workers..." Velvet said, looking saddened by this news. "But...what can we really do about it?"

"Well, I'll tell you what I'm going to do," Coco said, standing and walking over to the closet where she kept her clothes. "I'm getting rid of every piece I own that's from that hell-hole!"

Coco flung her closet door open and spent the next 20 minutes taking everything from that brand out, dumping it onto the floor. Her teammates knew how deeply she cared about all of this. Almost as much as she cared about them. They knew to stay out of her way right now.

By the time she was done, almost 90% of the clothes she owned was in a big pile in the middle of the room. Coco then began ripping the clothes she was wearing off, causing some tears in the fabric in her haste. Coco then added those to the pile, standing in her underwear with her arms folded, looking satisfied.

"There," she said. "I think that's all of it."

"Good for you," Fox said, looking towards the wall but with a small smile on his face. "But, what are you going to do, now that you're without a wardrobe?"

"I can go shopping with you, after classes tomorrow," Velvet offered, doing her best to avoid looking directly at her leader's body. "I've been meaning to get some new things, anyway."

Coco smiled over at her. "I appreciate that, hun-bun, but...no. It's not enough."

Velvet raised an eyebrow. "Throwing out all your clothes isn't enough?"

"No," Coco shook her head, frowning. "I think there's more that I can do about this. Like you said, we may be just students. But I still want to get a message out there. Even if these know-nothings notice, they'll probably just think I'm quietly distancing myself from Solena. I need to make a statement."

Velvet shook her head. "Coco...I don't like where this is going..."

But it was too late. Coco's eyes lit up as she came to an epiphany.

"I've got it!" She reached behind her back and unhooked her bra, letting it fall to the floor in front of her. "I'm going to make sure everyone at Beacon notices me doing this..." She hooked her thumbs in the waistband of her panties and pushed them to the ground, standing at full height and folding her arms again, completely exposing herself to her teammates. "I'd rather go naked than wear Solena!"

Fox looked confused by this conclusion. Yatsuhashi politely looked the other way, shielding his eyes with his massive hand. Velvet blushed as red as a tomato.

"Uh...are you...sure about this, Coco?" she asked. "I mean...c-couldn't you wear underwear, and get the same idea across?"

"Hm...probably," Coco admitted, nodding once. "But this really gets the idea across. That what they've done puts me off of fashion so much that I don't want anything to do with them, at all!"

"But...w-what if you get arrested, for going naked?"

"All the better! Protesters getting arrested can only get them more attention."

Velvet struggled to think of another argument against this, but failed. She knew Coco was committed to this, and there was no stopping her now.
