Races

Monsters: Do I really need to explain that monsters are monsters? They eat people attack cities get killed for their hides. Generally are a tough fight for a competent person but with time they could be a top existence being a tough fight for even the strongest of people.

Humans: No I'm not doing this again, go crack open a biology book. Just add the ability to learn magic, yes LEARN. Any human is able to do magic, nobles just keep that fact hidden and use it to keep themselves above the commoners.

Elves: Like humans, except longer lived. Physically their ears are pointed but they aren't long, they are taller and slimmer than a human. Coming in various subtypes because of the magic that makes up their being so expect a dark elf to be more competent in dark magic. But a wood elf better in nature magic.

Dwarves: Short stocky humans with beards. Everyone gets beards, even the young girls. Generally don't practice magic as a race, but those that do tend towards fire and earth. They are more known for their crafts and buildings. Oh also their drinks, they love their drinks.

Beastmen: This race... Well they are beasts that are people. By that I mean they have more animalist features, with ears, tails, fur, and snouts. Werewolves fall under this category despite also being a monster. Rumors of their origin suggest that a human got fucked by a monster and ended up birthing these cursed creatures. Their history as a race often has them suggested as being monsters themselves because of their physical traits, though recently they've managed to convince others they aren't actually monsters. Wolf beastmen are still confused for werewolves as they look incredibly similar, but lack the monstrous nature and the ability to curse others into turning into a werewolf as well.

Beastkin: This is a hybrid race, born from the union of a human/elf/dwarf and a beast man. The only reason they get their own race designation in the world is that they are distinctly different from beastmen and humans. While losing the fur they retain their ears and tail or other features like horns. But if they managed to hide those features they would otherwise look human. Like humans they possess the ability to use magic, unlike the beastmen who have all their magic tied up enhancing their bodies. (Fun fact, any body enhancing spell originally came from Beastkin. Including the cock enhancing one.) A union of two beastkins can result in a hybrid. (A sheep wolf hybrid beastkin or a cat dog hybrid not always though. The combinations are endless!)

Pokemon: No, this was a joke. They don't exist in this world. Just skip this paragraph that I'm putting here to make it look like I was serious about this being an actual race and any of the people who just skim through the reading will have no idea why a single Pokemon never actually appeared in the story despite it being listed here. Fuck that was one super long sentence take a breath if you actually read that.

Dragons: Yes, can't have a fantasy without a good ol' fire spewing lizard. In general as a race they are very solitary creatures content to hide in their volcano or barren desert on top of piles of gold and armor from would be dragon slayers who served themselves to be eaten. In total there are three in the world, well four now a new one was born about 200 years ago. Each one lives on it's own continent, except the child they still live with their parent though soon they'll be striking it out into the world. There are currently 7 unhatched eggs spread across the dragon lairs. It is very known where the three dragon nests are on each continent. One lives in a volcano which is the one on the continent of the academy, the red dragon rests there. The green dragon is worshiped by druids in a far away jungle, and lastly the black dragon rests in the ruins of a dwarven city covered in a layer of desert sands. If you couldn't guess no one really lives around them, their nests are always away from the populations of the world.

Demons: Evil creatures that have yet to grace this world. Lets just say, they might have something to do with the recent rise in slavers...... Of course after dealing with their incursion they'll write this: Demons are evil, they offer contracts providing power for a sacrifice. Initially people took this as a life and started sacrificing slaves to them for power. These contracts formed the power for what was initially called demonic mages as they used the power of demons for their power. Though after a few years they were renamed to warlocks, magic users who got their power from other entities. That brought into the question of if a priest was a warlock based on this definition but it was later changed to: Magic users who got their power from other entities not from this world. Of course because they require a sacrifice of some sort only a truly **** or twisted person becomes a warlock. However this also bypasses the racial limitations of beastmen not being able to use magic. A beastman can learn magic by contracting with a demon.
