Race: Avariel (Rare Race) Class: Rogue

The Avariels are winged elves, they live in the peaks of mountains and the crowns of giant trees, their view of the world is often resentful as they do not like outsiders near their mountain/tree cities, having seen the destructive nature of so many of their ground-bound neighbors. Some Avariels are arrogant and almost to the point of racism, seeing the lowborn ground dwellers as lesser life forms, slavery is illegal among the avariels but that doesn't mean an avariel with certain power bend the rules a bit for his own purposes.

The avariel absolutely abhor and detest being inside, underground, or otherwise restricted from the open sky. These winged elves are known for their fierce clerical tradition, as devout worshippers of the Seldarine sky goddess Aerdrie Faenya, who is the only deity to truly care for them and when they were under the attack of dragons seeking to claim their mountains. While they are not built as tall as normal elves, being about five feet tall in average, they do have their sensual touch and beauty, their wings having different colors from time to time, some of them even coloring their wings' tip feathers as a fashion.

Avariels live in a society ruled by their Chieftains, there are some bigger colonies of avariels ruled by a queen and/or king, but those are rare. There is always an advisor or magic user in each of the different colonies who is the second in command, but cannot claim leadership, as to avoid treachery, the chieftain/king7queen choose his or her heir from either a proving of different tests or by blood of his or her family.

Their common hair colors were black, green, brown, blond, white and sometimes red, their fair skin could be of the same variation of colors as a human, from white to dark brown and their eyes can be of several kinds of colors from blue, green, brown to yellow, pink and black. Avariels are skilled warriors with not just ranged weapons but with close range weapons as well, their use of spears, halberds, glaives and other polearms are very effective, but they are not too shabby with light swords like rapiers, scimitars and shortsword either.
