Chapter 6 by KateLeyland KateLeyland

Do you shave?

Quick Shave

Before stepping out, you reach for your razor on the little shelf in the corner. You flick a bit of razor gel into your palm, working up a thin, slippery layer over your legs.

You start with your left ankle, drawing the razor upward in smooth, quick strokes. The warm water keeps your skin soft, the blade gliding easily over your calf, past your knee, up to your thigh. You rinse the razor under the spray, watching the tiny foam trails swirl down the drain, then switch to the other leg.

It’s not a slow, indulgent shave, just enough to feel fresh. You run your fingertips over your skin to check for any stray patches, then give each leg a final rinse.

On instinct, you check under your arms too, a couple of quick swipes with the razor before rinsing clean. No fuss, no overthinking, just a tidy-up before the day really begins.

You set the razor back on the shelf, let the water run over you one last time, and then switch it off. The sudden stillness makes the steam hang heavier around you.

What's next?
