Quick Pre Party workout

I let out a deep breath as I look up at myself in the mirror, sweat beads on my forehead, "I fucking hate dead lifts." I look around and confirm that I'm still alone in the gym, this early in the morning.

Clank. Clank. Clank.*

I stretch my back as the bar hits the ground for the last set, I sit down on the bench and pick up my phone. A few moments later I look over my shoulder as a hand clasps down.

"Hey dude!" I grin as my eyes meet Sai's, I stand up and dap him up properly, "How's it going man? I haven't seen you in a bit, you've not been coming to classes." Sai sits down on the bench and I join him, he shakes up some pre-workout as he talks. "I've been doing them online, moving from that apartment and then having to commute back would be torturous."

I grin and nudge his shoulder "You could come back to the dorm bro." He laughs and snorts as he shakes his head "I'll think about it dude, a shared dorm a whole apartment, what a hard choice." Sai takes a sip of his pre-workout and continues, "I'm glad I finally have a moment to talk to you though, I wanted to tell you before you heard it from someone else." I look over at him curiously "Well, Ari and I have officially started dating!" He looks at me with a light behind his eyes, I grin and slap him on the back "Ayyyye, Congrats man! you've been keen on her for a bit hey?" He nods with a big goofy grin on his face. "Yeah, twoish weeks now."

Two weeks? But she was being so forward just last week? When I got the USB from her dorm. Shit. Should I say something? Probably not? I'll ask Ari I guess.

My genuine smile for him is replaced by one backed with a nervous facade "Well, I'm happy for you dude!" I try and change the subject "Have you heard about Trev's pool party? Vi, Ari and I are going." He nods and he looks out the window of the gym, I can't see his face but I hear his voice waver ever so slightly "Y-Yeah, Ari mentioned it but it was too late of a notice and I can't get out of the meeting I have tonight." Weird. I shrug "Ah Unlucky dude. Would've been cool to have a mini couples night out, no?" He grins and nods and sits for a moment before standing up "Aight bro, I'll leave you to it, see you around if you leave before I finish my cardio." He daps me up and leaves the weight room and makes his way to the cardio area in a separate room.

I watch him leave and then waste no time in pulling out my phone and punching in Ari's number.

"Erik? You never call? What do you want?" Ari's voice pierces through the phone, a hint of annoyance at the interruption. "You and Sai are dating? He told me you have been for like two weeks?" I hear a slight scoff and then a dismissive "Yeah, so?" I stutter and struggle to find the words as I look around, making sure Sai isn't around "You grinded on me and asked me to fuck you just last week?!" "Yeah?"

I sit on the gym bench flabbergasted before I hear suppressed giggling through the phone "Ari!!" "Oh, Relax would you! I'm not some terrible person, you and Sai are more alike than you think! You and Vi have your understanding and Sai and I have ours!" I sigh "So you told him about last week?" She scoffs "What was there to tell? We didn't do anything you pussy." I groan "Ari... Come on, work with me here..." It's her turn to groan "No I didn't, he doesn't want me to tell him the details on people I'm fucking with, okay?" "Okay, I get you."
"Sweet, is this phone call done now?"
"Yeah I guess so, bye."
The line disconnects as she doesn't miss a beat in ending the call. I sigh in relief, at least she's not cheating and it's more consensual. I put my phone down and decide to get back to my workout.
