Blonde hair and blue eyes greeted Dawn with steely expressions.
"Well, look who's here. And alone."
Dawn grimaced and stared at her glass, avoiding the crystal clear eyes next to her.
"Where's your better half, Dawn?" Gina asked slyly. Dawn shot her a look from the corner of her eyes.
"For your information, Gina, he's at home."
"I doubt that you would be here without him if everything was going well," Gina chuckled. "Tell me, what happened? Did he finally leave you for that redhead I've been seeing him with?"
Dawn's eyes welled with tears, answer enough for Gina. Gina had been Quentin's previous girlfriend, a relationship that hadn't lasted past the introduction to Dawn, Gina's former best friend. A half-hearted rivalry had come to conclusion when Quentin had broken up with the blonde girl and had moved in with Dawn. Dawn hadn't seen Gina again until now.
"Look," Dawn said, miserably. "I'm sorry about before. Please don't be mad at me. It wasn't my decision, after all. It was his. Let's just leave it at that."
"Oh, I know who's decision it was," Gina said, her voice dropping an octive. Her blue eyes traveled up and down Dawn's slim form, resting on her chest. "It's obvious who made the decision. Oh, yes it is." Her voice was thick with drink, and her eyes were glazed. Her tone reaked of ****, and Dawn couldn't surpress the shiver.
"Let's just leave it, Gina."
"I've left it. Oh, yes I have."
