Chapter 4 by Chicklet

What happens next?

Dawn tries to make amends.

Gina put her elbows on the bar, sucking on the straw in front of her. It was obvious that she'd already had enough to drink, and Dawn wondered why the bartender hadn't cut her off already.

"Do you think you've had enough to drink, Gina?" Dawn asked, looking at her former friend.

Gina's crystal blue eyes shot daggers into Dawn, almost knocking Dawn off her stool.

"What do you care, anyways? What are you even doing here? Why don't you go back home to Quentin and leave me alone?"

Guilt rocked Dawn's body, and tears that had been falling for herself formed again.

"I'm sorry, Gina. I really am, and I want to try to get over the whole Quentin mess and be your friend again."

Gina sucked noisily on her drink, staring into space. The last few drops of the rum and coke disapeared up the straw, and Gina was left with her empty glass. Holding a half empty beer bottle in her hand, still her first drink, Dawn put her hand on Gina's slumped shoulder.

All the depression she had felt at her own situation suddenly seemed very selfish. After all, her problems were now behind her. Other people in the bar probably had more problems. Like Gina, for instance. Dawn's heart went out to her.

"Do you need a ride home?" she asked.

Gina nodded.

Who gives Gina a ride home?
