Dan opened the mailroom doors to find Paul sorting the morning mail.

"I'm guessing she kept you busy," Paul said in a suggestive tone.

"She just needed help with moving some boxes, and then I ended up chatting with Hayden," Dan advised.

"Well, I can't blame you for hanging out with the cute intern instead of being in here." Paul joked.

"Sorry. I should have got back sooner and helped sort this out with you." Dan replied, unsure if Paul was annoyed at his absence.

"You're good, man. Things are fairly relaxed around here. If someone is expecting something urgently, I tend to know in advance, or I get phone calls asking where it is." Paul explained.

"I saw this woman earlier on the way to meet Karla." Dan proceeded to describe the woman he saw in the lift earlier.

"I'm drawing a blank on that one. She matches the description of someone who has visited the upper floors a few times. I've never met her. I don't think she works here." Paul answered.

The pair of them finished sorting the post. Dan saw there were a few bits for Melissa in Logistics, who he did not meet properly the day before.

"Well, you can deal with the cart. As I've got some FedEx packages to sort." Paul instructed Dan.

"Do you need any help with that?" Dan asked.

"I should be able to handle it myself," Paul replied.

Dan wheeled the cart out and checked the post over while doing so. He noticed as with the previous day, it was mostly for Accounts, Logistics and Legal. He saw at least one addressed to Christine and one for a name he didn't recognise. As he didn't explore above Design yesterday, he suspected it was for one of the other senior partners. He decided he would handle it last. He called for the elevator and pressed the button for accounts.

He wheeled the cart out and pushed it round to the desk that Karla and Kacey shared.

"Morning, girls." Knowing fully well he had already greeted both only an hour ago.

Both of them smiled at him, with Karla giving him a knowing wink. Kacey had her hair tied back and was wearing a cream sleeveless blouse with a black skirt.

"Dan, are you really wearing that today?" Kacey asked him.

"Why, what's wrong with it?" Dan asked, rather surprised.

"You are clearly wearing the same slacks as yesterday, and that shirt is so last season," Kacey replied harshly.

"Leave the boy alone, Kace," Karla interjected.

"I'm trying to help him. He can't work here and not look fabulous." Kacey retorted.

"I thought I looked good," Dan replied, sounding hurt.

"Ignore her. She's just teasing." Karla said, rolling her eyes at her friend's remark.

"Clear your schedule I am taking you clothes shopping over lunch." Kacey

Dan was still shocked at Kacey's remarks on his outfit but did not mind the idea of getting to spend more time with the attractive blonde accountant.

"Actually, that sounds like it could be fun. I should be free at one." Dan told her.

He placed the post for the pair of them in the tray and headed back to the elevator and up to Logistics. He wheeled the cart through the corridors until he reached the offices. He saw that David was out. Hayden was sat a desk working on something. He waved at her, and she looked up from her desk to smile at him. Melissa was sat in her office and looked to be on the phone. He had not met Melissa properly yesterday and decided it was for the best not to mention his first introduction to her.

Dan knocked on the door, and he saw Melissa signalling to enter her office. He stepped inside and shut the door behind him. Melissa ended her conversation and placed the handset back on the reciever.

Melissa was wearing a gray blazer over a white shirt and a grey skirt. The top few buttons on her shirt were undone giving a glimpse of her cleavage.

"Hi, Dan. Take a seat. I didn't get a chance to say hello yesterday." Melissa said to him.

Dan took a seat as suggested.

"Yeah. I kind of missed you when I was learning my way around the place." Dan fudged a few details out of politeness.

"I'm surprised we've not met before, with you being Christine's son," Melissa commented.

Dan was surprised as Melissa was the first person at Forbidden Rose to indicate they knew that he was Christine's son. He had told Hayden earlier but felt it seemed unlikely she had mentioned it in such a short space of time. Then again it was hardly some well-kept secret.

"I met David yesterday, and I got coffee with Hayden earlier," Dan advised her.

"David's out at the moment and Hayden's working on a project for me," Melissa replied.

"So far everyone has been really welcoming and helped show me around," Dan told her.

"Did you enjoy the show?" Melissa said, her tone changing to sound suggestive.

"I don't know what you mean?" Dan replied, trying to feign innocence.

"Don't play coy with me, Daniel." Melissa teased.

Dan watched as Melissa leaned back in her chair and placed her feet on her desk. This showed off her slender, stockinged legs.

"Are you trying to seduce me, Mrs Robinson?" Dan asked nervously.

She held up one hand, showing off a ring. "I don't know what you mean, Daniel. I'm a happily married woman."

Dan let out a nervous cough in response. Under different circumstance and if Hayden was not working on a desk right outside Melissa's office, he might react differently. He felt that maybe some sense of decorum was in order; then again, perhaps Melissa wanted to challenge him in this way.

"I think I should get back on with my rounds.." Dan said, trying to excuse himself.

Melissa chuckled at Dan's obvious awkwardness. "It was nice to meet you, Dan."

Dan stepped out of the office and was sure he could see Hayden mouthing the word maneater as he walked past her. He returned back to the elevator and made his way up to Legal. He saw that Brianna was out of the office, but Liam was present and busy photocopying some documents. Liam was either in his late twenties or early thirties. A tall white man with neatly trimmed light brown hair. He had a slim goatee and was wearing what looked to be an expensive designer suit. As he heard Dan approach, he turned to face him and walked over.

He stuck out his hand in greeting. Dan found out that Liam had a really firm handshake.

"You must be Dan. I was out yesterday. I heard you already know Brianna?" Liam asked.

"Hi Liam. Yeah, well, Christine's my Mom and Brianna's practically my aunt." Dan advised.

"Ah, the joys of nepotism. I joke. I know Christine wouldn't have brought you in if you weren't competent." Liam replied, slapping Dan on the shoulder in that way that guys do.

"I'm totally putting in the bare minimum and hiding in cupboards to get through my shift." Dan joked.

Liam laughed heartily at this. "Sincerely, though, Dan, welcome aboard. We are fairly relaxed here, but things can be hectic when they shouldn't be."

"I need to get back to it," Dan told him.

Dan returned to the cart and saw he only had two items left one for Christine and one for a C. Martinelli. It was a name he did not recognise. He went back to the elevator and pressed the button for the fifth floor. He had not been up to the fifth floor before and found it was a strange maze of corridors, half empty rooms and offices. It kind of reminded him of the offices in Severance. He wandered for some time and eventually found his mom's office. He saw that across the corridor there was also the office for Martinelli. Inside he saw there was an older guy perhaps in his late fifties or early sixties. He looked like he might be Italian and was clearly a silver fox. He saw that the woman from the lift was also in there with him, and the two appeared to be engaged in a heated discussion.

Dan looked through Christine's office window and saw she was working on something on her desk. He knocked and then entered her office. Christine looked up to greet her son.

"Hi, Mom. I have some post for you and Mr Martinelli." He told her.

"I'll take Christopher's post as he's currently engaged in a screaming match with Ms Fantinello." Christine snarked.

"Who is she?" Dan asked.

"The legal counsel for Mr Giordano," Christine advised.

Dan thought he recalled the name but was drawing a blank. Christine noticed Dan's confused look.

"Our Italian investors. We are currently going through some contract negotiations."

"Nothing bad?"

"Routine. We have a review every five years, and we are quickly approaching that. Christoper has been arguing about some of the finer points. "

Dan handed over the post and checked the time on his phone. It was half twelve, and he would be meeting Kacey at one to go shopping.

"I should head back downstairs," Dan told her.

Christine waved him goodbye, and Dan headed back to the mailroom. As he headed down the corridor to the room, he could hear the familiar sound of female moans. He wasn't sure if he should intrude or not.
