Punishment

Having my mother in law move in with my wife and I has caused some difficult changes. The biggest challenge has been from the lack of privacy. More than once I have forgotten to close the bathroom door whilst showering, leading to some humiliation and scolding from my mother in law who walked in on me.

Another issue has been that my mother in law acts more like a mother at times. It’s not always bad, she is helpful around the house and overall very kind. The problem stems from her tendency to dish out punishments like a mother would. At times this has led to embarrassing situations for me in my household.
