Proving Klas's case

Angelo shakes his head. "Hold on a moment. I want to try something first." Dubala sighs softly then glances at Jasmine. He looks at them. "Look, if I'm not satisfied by what I do, I will let you use the vial on him. Deal?" Jasmine nods slightly. "Fine, but we're not releasing him without a good explanation." Klas looks around at them before focusing on Angelo. "I'm at your mercy, Master Angelo. My life is yours." Angelo felt a little pull in his chest. "As you said earlier, it's innocent until proven guilty." He focuses on Klas, and casts Observe on him.

His eyes widen slightly upon seeing the word veracity. 'Hmm, if I remember correctly that has to do with conformity to facts; accuracy, and habitual truthfulness. He is clearly innocent.' That was when he noticed a darkness surrounding Klas's right hand. The darkness faded when the observed information vanished. He walks over to Klas. "Klas, I need you to think hard on this next question. Who have you shaken hands with today?" Klas blinks before mumbling about what he had done that day.

About a minute into his rambling, he straightens up before shaking his head. "Ah, um. No." A few seconds later, he smiles. "Ah! I remember. I shook hands with two people today. Stard, you remember him, right? He's Slyka's Tactical Advisor. We shook hands after sealing a deal to have some dangerous items shipped to his house." His eyes widen as he hears himself say that last part. "I didn't think anything of it at the time since he is always buying dangerous things. Although it is odd that he wanted them shipped to his house instead of the armory."

Dubala glares at Klas. "That is really suspicious. Can you give me his description?" He nods enthusiastically, telling her every little detail he could remember about Stard. She nods slightly. The expression on her face showed that she was impressed by the level of detail. "You're quite observant." He smiles brightly. "Thank you. I take pride in it since it is a major part of my job, ma'am." Angelo gently touches Klas's shoulder. "What about the other one?" Klas looks into Angelo's brown/green hazel eyes. "Oh, right. Um, the other was an odd Dwarf. He brought in a few pelts, thirty pounds of meat, and two pristine tusks with some buddies of his."

Lena cringes then whispers to herself. "Please don't be Thukeg Stormtoe. Please don't be Thukeg Stormtoe." He turns to look at Lena before refocusing on Angelo. "He wanted a bit more than I was willing to offer for the lot. But that's not so unusual." Jasmine lets out a soft sigh. "Please focus on what was unusual." He glances at Jasmine then nods. "Okay. He wanted blasting powder. A lot of it. He wanted at least two hundred pounds of the stuff. He claimed it was for making bullets for one of his buddies and the rest was for a mine they were exploring. I've never heard of anyone using that much for bullets or exploring a mine."

Angelo scratches the top of his head. "I can't say I know much about that sort of thing, but what was this Dwarf's name?" Klas looks at Angelo. "Could you allow me to lay down first? I'm feeling a bit woozy." Angelo looks to Dubala who reluctantly unties Klas's wrists and ankles. Klas lets out a soft sigh of relief before slipping out of the chair before laying on the ground. "Thanks. Um, where was I? Oh, right. I believe his name was Mr. Stormtoe." Lena covers her face. "Oh no. Why does it have to be him!?"

Klas looks at Lena. "I can't change his name. Sorry about that, miss." Angelo looks at Dubala, Jasmine, and Lena. "Dubala, I'll need you to bring Stard here. Lena, if you would kindly convince Mr. Stormtoe to accompany you here. I would appreciate it. Jasmine, please go with Lena. I'll stay here with Klas." Dubala nods, moving to leave. "All right, but make sure he doesn't leave." Lena sighs but nods with a little pout. "All right, but I deserve a reward for it." Angelo chuckles. "I promise to give you a reward when you come back."

She smiles. "I'll accomplish this quickly!" Jasmine walks over to Lena. "Is he really that bad?" Lena cringes as they begin to walk out of that room. "He's pretty bad. I don't think you'd believe me if I just told you." Jasmine giggles. "We're talking about a Dwarf. They tend to be pretty bad." They both giggle. Angelo turns his attention back to Klas. "Let's get you fixed up." Klas lifts a brow. "Are you going to get my sister to heal me?" Angelo smiles and shakes his head. "Nah, I can take care of it. Besides, I don't think you want Fenvi to see you like this."

Klas nods slightly. "Yeah, I don't want her to see her big brother like this." Angelo casts Faith's Renewal on Klas. - 30 Mp A soft and warm glow forms around Klas's body as his wounds rapidly close. The spell heals 80 health over 4 seconds. Klas groans softly as his eyes close. "Mm, so warm... and, pleasant..." He passes out shortly after. The relief was too intense for his worn form. Angelo looks around the room for something more comfortable for Klas but couldn't find anything.

He decides to open his inventory and notices he has three Large Rat pelts he could use. He casts Craft while thinking of making a pillow and blanket. - 5 Mp

He didn't need much time to think about it as he selected the third option, Deluxe Rat Sack. - 3 Large Rat pelts, - 45 Mp, - $20.12 Although he didn't see the item, a pop up appeared asking if he wanted to rename it. He blinks, noticing the item in question was in his inventory. 'Oh, it must be there since I didn't bring the items out.' He decides to name it, Klas's Nap Sack. He pulls it out of his inventory and looks at it. Its design was a simple black rectangle, but the fur lining was incredibly soft as was the pillow that puffed out a bit at the top end.

Money has been reduced from $33,758.23 to $33,738.11.

He carefully tucks Klas into the nap sack over the next seven minutes before zipping it up. Immediately Klas's expression relaxes. Angelo smiles before sitting down. 'Sleep well, Klas.' He leans back a bit while waiting for the girls to return. He began to wonder which of the two, if either, were guilty. Which one is guilty, Stard or Thukeg Stormtoe? Any thoughts on what the strange darkness on Klas's hand is?
