Protector? - No pulses

Even before you got there a small crowd had already formed around them. The man stood his ground, looking defiantly into Emily's furious eyes, who is now standing up.

"What do you think you are doing?" she asked with fear, anger and confusion

"Slut, why are you flirting with another man? You belong to me!" he barked, pushing some random stranger who grabbed him from behind. The man in question is a big, muscular one and he is ready for a fight but so are you. Whatever altered state of mind you are in today seems to enhance your aggresion as well.

You land a punch without thinking twice, connecting squarely with his jaw. It wasn't a fair punch, after all your opponent was still struggling against the other guy who tried to help out. But you didn't care. All you can see now is red mist and the bastard who hurt your friend.

Surprisingly, he doesn't fall from this punch. Freeing himself from the stranger's grip, he turns on you and swings back. Then it's fists flying, knees connecting, elbows raking. Then he hits, sending you down on the pavement into a brief bliss of nothingness.

When you open your eyes again, you see mall security pulling the man away. Emily is over you, worry written on her face.

"Are you OK? Did he...?" she starts asking frantically.

"I am fine." you manage to croak out. "Are you?"

"I.. I don't understand. He didn't seem like that kind of ..." she trails off, looking confused and hurt at the same time. Then she changes the subject. "Are you sure you don't need a doctor?" She leans closer and you are hit by a thought of grabbing her hair, pulling closer and forcefully kissing her.

You groan in frustration, even a hit in the jaw didn't remove those vivid fantasies. You need to get to a place with no women. Now!

"No, I really am OK. I should... probably just go home," you mumble, getting up unsteadily.

"I'm going with you," she announces and you know her well enough to know that talking her out of it is nearly impossible
