Professor Sinistra

Looking at the book titled, The Rule Book, Aurora figured a student must have dropped it. Picking up the lost book, she decided to see what rules the book was talking about, seeing as there was no further information or author on the cover. Opening the front page to the introduction there seemed to just be one description on the sheet of paper.

The Rule Book: Any rule written in the Rule Book, will become reality. Crossing out a rule will cancel it.

Quickly, she dropped it into her side bag that she uses to carry her things. After sending her custom unlocking spell to her door, she made her way into her room and closed the door behind her.

Locking the door, Aurora levitated the book out of her bag and onto her desk. After thoroughly subjecting the book to a series of detection charms, the Astronomy professor gave a sigh of relief, that she hadn't found a cursed book. The Headmaster had mentioned that the petrifaction problem from last term was because of a student possessed by a cursed book, so she wanted to make sure she wasn't under it's control.

As a Professor who taught magic, she never believed anything was impossible, but the book still seemed fanciful. Deciding to test the book, Aurora used the Tempus charm, checking the time and noting that it was 8:30 Pm. Taking out one of her quills, she dipped it in her ink well before righting her test rule.

At the top of each blank page there was a title, New Rules. Putting her rule down, she smiled at what she thought was a clever way to test the rules.

New Rules:

At 8:35 Pm, every night a bar of gold will appear on Aurora Sinistra's desk at Hogwarts.

Closing the Rule Book, she decided to start working on grading some of her student's assignments, and though that if the gold bar showed up then the Rule Book was real, but if nothing showed up then it wasn't a loss on her part.

As she was finishing with a particularly short assignment from Ronald Weasley, she heard a thump on her desk and looked up. There, seeming innocent on her desk was what seemed to be a bar of gold. Frowning at it, she had to investigate bar, to see if it was really a gold bar, or if the Rule Book just had a particularly advanced spell hidden within it.

Casting as many spells as she knew to determine what the bar was made of, which was admitted not that many spells, who else but goblins or curse breakers needed to know if something was gold any way, Aurora could confidently say that as far as she was aware, it was a real bar of gold.

Smiling as she imagined the possibilities, her smile then quickly turned into a frown. If someone else got their hands on the Rule Book, they could cause untold amounts of devastation. She needed to protect the book from people who would severely **** it... and make sure that she was the only one who would befit from its use.

Deciding to get ride of the old rule, and add protections to the Rule Book, she got to work, drafting ideas on a separate piece of parchment before writing them down in the Rule Book.

New Rules:

A̶t̶ ̶8̶:̶3̶5̶ ̶P̶m̶,̶ ̶e̶v̶e̶r̶y̶ ̶n̶i̶g̶h̶t̶ ̶a̶ ̶b̶a̶r̶ ̶o̶f̶ ̶g̶o̶l̶d̶ ̶w̶i̶l̶l̶ ̶a̶p̶p̶e̶a̶r̶ ̶o̶n̶ ̶A̶u̶r̶o̶r̶a̶ ̶S̶i̶n̶i̶s̶t̶r̶a̶'̶s̶ ̶d̶e̶s̶k̶ ̶a̶t̶ ̶H̶o̶g̶w̶a̶r̶t̶s̶.̶

When anyone but Aurora Sinistra looks at the Rule Book, they will only see advanced but uninteresting Astronomy books.

Aurora Sinistra is the only one who can use the Rule Book.

The Rule Book is indestructible.

The Rule Book will always return to a pocket of Aurora Sinistra, shrunken down, if it is more than fifteen meters away.

Everyone excluding Aurora Sinistra will not realize anything is changed when a new rule is written down, because to their knowledge, the change was always in place.

Looking at the protection she added to the book, she smiled and used a charm to levitate the protection notes into her fireplace, watching them burn to ash before her smile turned into a sultry smirk.
