Professor Sinistra Pretends to be Disapointed

At the end of her third year astronomy class, Aurora heard a gasp and quickly turned around. When she heard a loud crash, she knew her scheme had worked. Walking over to the students who were crowding around, she could see that Harry and his friends Hermione and Ron were standing near him, while everyone else was already whispering gossip.

"Mr. Potter, what exactly is going on here?" she asked as sternly as she could. She could see Harry gulp as he prepared to answer, but before he could say anything he was cut off by a Slytherin student.

"Professor Sinistra, Potter pushed the telescope off and was bragging about-", as Draco began trying to tell a made up story, she stopping him mid word, "Mr. Malfoy, I wasn't asking you what happened, it is well known among the staff members that the two of you have something of a rivalry or some other matter between each other."

Turning back to the group that had closed ranks, she tried another tactic, that would leave no doubt in the other students minds what happened. Looking like she finally wanted some answered, she asked Hermione, "Ms. Granger, would you please tell me what happened, truthfully?" she added at the end when it looked like she might lie.

Standing straight, the young witch tried to come to her friends defense, "Professor Sinistra, you see, Harry really wasn't looking where he was going and accidentally knocked into the telescope. It just happened to be near the edge and fell over, but Professor, it wasn't Harry's fault at all-" stopping her from continuing by putting a hand up, she used the other to pretend to massage her forehead.

Speaking with a resolved look on her face, she told the listening group, "Yes, Ms. Granger, that may be so, and I do believe that Mr. Potter wouldn't purposely knock the telescope over, but it is a quite expensive piece of Astronomy equipment, so I cannot just let it go unpunished even if it was an accident."

Turning to look at Harry, she said to him, "Mr. Potter, while I believe it was an accident, you will unfortunate have to spend detention with me for the rest of the year." When it looked like Harry's friends were going to try and jump to his defense again, she told them, "Mr. Weasley, Ms. Granger, the telescope that Mr. Potter knocked over was several hundred galleons."

That seemed to shut them up and made Draco smirk at Harry. Deciding to send everyone off before a fight could break out, she finished, "All right, that was clearly enough excitement for the night, I will see you all next class, and Mr. Potter, I will see you in my office after dinner."
