Professor Byleth Eisner

Known among lowly bandits as the feared "Ashen Demon," Byleth is a member of a band of mercenaries led by her father Jeralt Eisner, the legendary warrior known as the "Blade Breaker." After discovering a mysterious power hidden within, she was offered a post as a teacher at the Officer's Academy of the Garreg Mach Monastery, where she taught weapon skills and military tactics. Now though, she's taking it easy at the Smash Mansion following an invitation from Master Hand during the Smash tournaments.

Byleth may seem stoic, but she actually is just as emotional as anyone else. She originally had trouble expressing her feelings thanks to her stoic father and even more stoic late mother, life on the road as the lone woman in a band of travelling mercenaries, and the hidden power within her affecting her emotional development. But thanks to coming to care for her students at Garreg Mach, she's found it easier to smile more and so is a bit more expressive during her stay at the Smash Mansion. People close to her are more easily able to read what she's feeling, but many at the mansion still find her inscrutable and are surprised when she emotes.

She is a master swordswoman and talented tactician and leader, but she can just as easily beat the enemy down with her fists and has rather surprising skill in healing and offensive light magic. She is also capable of calling upon the little green gremlin goddess in her head (it's complicated) to rewind time, though her "Divine Pulse" is unable to change outcomes to fated events, can only go back so far, and can only be used ten times per day. Her weapon of choice, the Sword of the Creator, is a whip-sword that can lash out for ranged damage.

However, Byleth doesn't have the strongest social skills due to her life of lethal combat on the road. She's a big eater with poor table manners, cuts her hair with a dagger instead of scissors, has trouble understanding the difference between friends and battlefield comrades, is not fully conscientious of people's genders, and has absolutely zero issue with being seen in the nude or having her body or assets ogled. She also has no fear of ****, resulting in some surprisingly reckless decisions in the heat of the moment and an alarming lack of self-preservation during disasters.
